Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Though Tydus was distracted by Vesh's leaving, he found that the world around him had not faded away. The sounds of his podmate showing off and beating to his own drum, as he always did, was by no means new to him. It was the others, the sudden quiet and distraction that plagued Adi, that intrigued him. Before he could move over to her and ask if she was alright, though, he was attacked.

The other woman, Grace, as she had introduced herself as over, had sprung forward, and out of nowhere, lashed out at him, his head and body shoved under the water, the heat pressing to the flesh of his face, his skin ablaze with the rolling heat of the water as his mouth filled with the heated liquid. The sensation of hot water, still new to him, was all the more unwelcome in his mouth, the Tempest lashing out under water, curses emerging from his lips in a string of bubbles rolling to the surface of the springs before Tydus clutched at the woman's hands. He pushed forward once, using the force of the motion in the water to push his body backwards, sputtering as water escaped from his lungs.

Air filled them in its stead, gasps fleeing from his lips as the Tempest scion sought to gather air and find new life in it, though despite being attacked, a grin marked the Tempest's features, the knowledge that his attacker's skill in the water, shown by her slow ascent towards him, encouraged him to continue their game. Vibrant blue eyes cast themselves towards the woman as Zulrav's winds blew over their heads, the cool chill of early Spring's counteracting the faint burn of the hot spring water upon his face. Despite his worry, Tydus felt the worry seep from his mind, exhilaration and the love for water, as corrupted as it was by heat, wedged through the Svefra's mind as the God's wind drove Tydus' Master, God of the Sea Laviku's saline air through his lungs. It was wondrous to sense, and Tydus felt the array of sensory detail absolve him of his concerns.

Vesh could wait, the penguin's problems were by no means new to Tydus, and there was little urgency in the matter so long as Vesh made it to the ocean's embrace in time. In the coming days, Tydus would need to worry about it, but not on this one. Instead, he shouted out to Kel in Common, turning his head as he did so,

"Pod-brother! Where the bloody seas are you going? Get yer arse back over 'ere! This 'un has a bit of fight in 'er, she does."

Tydus Tempest felt an unfamiliar rush of excitement in his bones, a chuckle escaping his lips as he began to turn back towards the normal. He had every intention of putting her in her place, for the sake of his own amusement, if anything. She sought to challenge a Svefra on the water, he'd prove to her that it was not to end in her favour.

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

Kel scowled at the three in the water who seemed to ignore him. The cold air brought chills to his flesh as he stood at the edge of the pool, steam rising from the water in front of him and curling around his body. He watched Tydus disappeared under the surface of the boiling water as Grace dunked him. After a few moments, the younger Svefra came spluttering up for air, initial shock turning into a devious grin. Tydus rallied his podmate to him, a call the black haired Svefra was more than willing to heed.

Kel thrust a fist into the air, bellowing at the top of his lungs,
“TEEEEEMPEST POOOOWAH!” before leaping into the limestone pool. He hit the surface in an explosion of water, sending it cascading into the air once again. The water slowed his descent but the Svefra still hit the ground. When he felt his toes brush the ground he quickly bent his knees to absorb the blow under water so he wouldn’t hurt himself. Kel tilted his head up and opened his eyes as he floated in the semi shallow waters. Legs dangled in front of him and his teeth flashed under the water as he grinned.

Kel shoved off the ground and shot towards the surface of the pool, behind Grace. He burst from the water and shouted gleefully as he wrapped his hands around her shoulders, locking his elbows. Gravity took a hold of the Svefra and pulled him back down towards the water. Unless Grace somehow managed to throw him off, his weight would shove her under the water yet again.

The Svefra laughed and winked at Tydus as he released the girl’s shoulders.
“Don’t yeh’ be worryin' mate. I got’cha back.” He held a fist out for his podmate to pound before kicking backwards, floating on his back in the water. If some land dweller thought she could best two Svefra in their natural element, she was sorely mistaken.

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

As Adi drifted off in the calming pool of warm water, she closed her eyes and hummed lazily to herself in an attempt to soothe her senses. This is...nice... thought the young Vantha to herself, surprised that warmth could feel good on her skin. She had been born and raised in a snowy wasteland, and was used to cold, even liked it to some degree. You learn something new every day, I suppose. Add 'Kel can be decent' to the list of les-

"Ack!"

A wave of water splashed her face, surprising her enough to take a deep breath of nothing but hot spring water. Adi began coughing deeply, trying to expel all the offending liquid from her lungs.

After a full chime of coughing, the woman stood up and retreated from the pool, shooting dagger-like orange glares at Kel, who she immediately assumed was responsible for the tidal wave that crashed over her.

It took her another chime or so to plot her revenge, knowing the matter would be made harder since Kel and Tydus were both seafaring Svefra who played in the water for a living. But an idea came to her presently, and though it wasn't brilliant it was the best plan she had.

"Hey, Kel, Tydus. Ease up on Grace for a chime, would you? I need to talk to her. Preferably out of the water," said Adi, beckoning towards Grace. She could use the other woman's help in this.

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

Postby Grace Lechar on May 20th, 2014, 1:43 am

She was ready to go back to relaxing. The impromptu playing had proved to be too rough for Grace. She couldn't handle herself against the man in his natural element, especially when she could barely amble around the hot liquid herself. She was about to turn around and issue her surrender to the man, realizing she had turned her back on him far too long. Her hackles raised quickly, at Kel's screams, which was quickly followed by his actions. A warm brush of water flew up her back, warning her of an oncoming threat. Unable to touch the ground, Grace was helpless to whatever attack that was about to fall upon her. Expecting fingers to wrap around her ankles, Grace pulled her legs up, tucking them into her belly, and attempting to push herself forward in the water. She could possibly evade Ty's slippery hands. Grace pulled her head back just in time to see a man, who was definitely not Tydus, leap out of the water, sending the hot liquid over her face and into her eyes. A shriek sputtered out of her mouth and she turned her head away to avoid the man, but wasn't expecting Kel's next move. Hot arms wrapped around her shoulders, preventing her from attempting to wiggle out of his slippery grip. As Kel's muscles tightened around her collar bone, she knew she was going down. Barely enough time for a shallow breathe was given before the hot water invaded her eyes and ears. She didn't struggle, expecting him to let her go as soon as they sunk into the water, but he didn't, letting gravity pull the pair down. A gurgle of air erupted from her lips as she realized she didn't have enough air for however long he was going to keep her down. Again, Grace's adrenaline pumped up, and she tried to wiggle out of his grasp, making no dent in his grip. Thankfully, he let her go distracted, not all his focus on trying to drown her. Thrwoing her feet to the ground and pushing off the rock with all her strength and propelling her to the surface, away from Kel and Tydus.

Sputtering water out of her mouth and nose, Grace paddled so that she could stand, throwing her arms up in surrender. With her bangs poking out everywhere and wide blue eyes accompanied by a stinging red nose, Grace truly looked defeated. She bit off more than she could chew a playful brawl turned pretty tough pretty quickly. Thanks to Kel. Grace shot a half-heartedly glare towards the black haired man, unwilling to show more aggression. Grace treated him like a wild animal, with courteous avoidance of eye contact and no signs of aggression to trigger an attack. Grace turned, wading into the shallower water as Adi spoke up, earning herself a relieved look from Grace. "Hey, Kel, Tydus. Ease up on Grace for a chime, would you? I need to talk to her. Preferably out of the water,"

"Ay! Sounds good ta'may." Grace cupped her hand in the water, quickling bringing the liquid up to smooth back her bangs. She pulled herself out of the water, her strong legs pushing her onto dry sand with little problem. She turned, still crouched grinning to the woman and offering her hand. For not knowing any of the people here, she was rather pleased to be in their company. All were seemingly human, which gave Grace a great relief, not only from the hulking blue men that crowded the city, but the various races in the Sanctuary alone. The culture shock was more than she could handle. Grace let her arms hover, ready to help Adi should she need it. Grace had noticed earlier how she had winced at one arm, obviously from some sort of injury, but Grace didn't know which arm, nor did she know how open the woman was to a friendly stranger in her undergarments. She stuck her toungue out at the men before speaking to Adi. Grace grinned, motioning towards the men as she was speaking and then towards the vast blue ocean that lay beyond them. "Heh, them two ain't quite human. Just throw 'em, in'a Ocean n' they'd be all sorts'a happy."

[Travertine Hot Springs] Tempting Tempests (Grace, Adi, Kel)

Adi cackled at the other woman's comment, the remark ringing true with her though it was hurtful to the Tempest brothers who currently accompanied her. Hopefully they couldn't hear what Grace had said.

...do Ty and Kel even have feelings? Kel's a prick and Ty doesn't seem like he cares about anyone but himself, but surely that doesn't mean they don't have feelings.

Adi stood up as straight as she could outside the body of water she'd been soaking in, her right arm wrapped gingerly around her stomach. Her violet eyes were trained on the ground, though her ears listened ahead of her for Grace's footsteps. When she heard the other woman approach, she looked up, wet hair flicking back along with her head. The Vantha's face lit up in a friendly but devious smile.

"So Grace. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to help me surprise the petch out of Tydus and Kel. I want to jump on their shoulders when they're turned away from us and hopefully get them wet. They'll definitely be surprised!" Adi explained her plan to Grace with a chuckle when she was done, and she hoped that the woman would like her plan.

As she waited for Grace's response to her idea, the young Vantha turned her attention to the two Svefra playing in the water like children. It amused her, and knowing that a pair of hopefully fully-grown men could still have that much fun playing with each other brought a smile to her face. That smile was quickly followed with a note on how dirty that last thought sounded and a blank expression as she tried to get the unwelcome intrusion out of her head.

Oops.

Additional Comments

More Tempest fun cut short! I seem doomed to never grade a Tempest related thread that has reached completion! It was shaping up to be a wonderful match between the four but alas it's cut short. I have to admit that the Tempests' reaction to hot water is funny but I suppose that can only be expected when you only splash around in cool ocean waters. I enjoyed this while it lasted!

Please edit or delete your grade request and PM me if you have any questions or concerns about your grade.
