12th day of Spring, 514
The sun had already began sinking by the time the Svefra positioned their casinor in its usual place; set apart from zeltivan docks, anchored next the shores of one the adjoining beaches. That afternoon the Svefra crew had set out to fish, their food supplies running a little low. While they were forced to sail outside the bay, due to the competition presented by other fishermen, they did manage to have luck thanks to the power that Oceanus, the gift the all father had given them.
They quickly moved to stow the gear and prepare the catch. Cal and Kahne worked on the tuna they had caught, while Malus, Dany, and Mari worked on the ship; securing the sails, lowering the anchor and making sure it was secure, stowing the fishing nets, cleaning the deck, and other general maintenance. Nea had, the second they dropped the anchor, dove into the anchor an made for the beach, yelling out only “ I’ll see what I can find!”. Malus chuckled at her words, knowing that she only meant to escape from having to do any work. The rest of the crew simply dismissed it, being used to from all their lives her irresponsible nature. After all, she was even more impulsive and rash then Malus.
When they had finished their work, Malus made his way to the sprit, and lowered himself into his hanging hammock for a quick nap. In what couldn’t have been more than half a bell later, he heard a whistle, which he promptly ignored. Some ticks later he was hit by something small and flat, either a rock or coral, he could not tell. He tried to ignore that as well, until he was hit by a second one, and then he finally looked over and saw Nea standing on the shore, waving for him to come.
Sighing, he took a breath and rolled out of his hammock and into the cold water below him. The shock of the cold water was enough to remove all the last vestiges of his nap, and his body quickly reacted to being in the water. It was low tide, and the bottom was not deep; they had anchored in a shallow part of the shore next to the beach, and he was able to stand with his head above the water line. He took a few gulps of the cold refreshing water, his Oceanus mark converting the salt water into fresh drinkable water as he drank. He made his way towards Nea, and when he finally reached her he shook his head, spraying water everywhere, including onto Nea, who yelped and stepped back defensively, all the while sporting a playful smile.
After his hair settled back into place, and when the clinking of the shells and trinkets he had tied to it calmed, he finally spoke. “Where did you run of to, huh?” he asked in Fratava, their native tongue. “well, I just went looking for something that can entertain us tonight” She replied, “ I thought you might appreciate that.” she gave him a coy smile cocking her head attempting to appear innocent. Malus had known her long enough to know she is anything but. He laughed at her attempt, and at her reply, “Well? What did you find?”
She stepped aside and behind her were two fairly large bottles of wine embedded into the sand. Nea replaced her coy smile, a mischievous smirk taking its place saying only, “Let’s see what sorts of adventures we can find tonight?”
