Appearance
In the form of a polar bear, she is about 7'11" in length, and weighs roughly 560lbs. Her fur consists of a dense, insulating undercoat, layered with "guarding" hairs of various lengths. Each hair shaft is transparent with a hollow core that scatters and reflects light, causing her fur to appear almost white- much like ice and snow. On the other hand, her skin is black, with a layer of fat underneath to keep her warm in her freezing environment. Her claws are usually sheathed, unless provoked or if she is travelling on slippery terrain. They are thick, strong, curved, sharp, and deadly.
As a two-legger, she stands at a height of about 5'11, with a weight of approximately 135lbs. Her human appearance is similar to that of the Vantha, except for her long, black-rooted, silvery-white hair and pale skin. She is tall and lithe with slim limbs, that move with the smooth ease of underlying muscle.
A small, thumb-length scar rests behind her left ear, while two hand-length claw marks scar her back from when she was a cub. In both forms, her eyes are a deep chocolate brown, and because of certain pigments, does not get snow-blindness in either skin.
Character Concept
As seen with her clawed kin, she can be quite sociable, though that does not mean that she is one for much vocalization; only when she is excited will words spill from her lips. Usually, she simply enjoys being in the company of others, while quenching some of her curiosity at the same time. However, by no means does this mean that she is entirely submissive, though neither is she one of the hot-tempered sort, preferring to relinquish leadership to the more dominant, but also content to lead if there is no-one higher on the hierarchy present. When approaching someone for the first time, she is generally a bit cautious, but very curious, and if she takes a liking to them, it will quickly become evident. When possible, Anweira enjoys listing and participating in music circles, as well as learning about the different herbs and plants she comes across. She is an inquisitive and playful creature by nature, who loves to make new discoveries, but also knows what it means to be in a serious situation.
In concerns to her trauma, although she does not mind water in general and baths, she distinctly dislikes the sensation of being submerged past her elbows (if standing in say, the ocean), and will not take a single step out onto large expanses of ice.
Character History
In the northern reaches of Avanthal, Anweira was born to a Polar Bear and Talderan Longneck kelvic pair. Her mother, Oraneila, had bonded with a member of the Icewatch, and so Anweira was expected to follow. However, there was one particular incident that altered those plans. Once, as a cub, Anweira was nearly eaten by an older male polar bear, a non-Kelvic, and only escaped such a fate when the ice beneath her paws gave way, causing her to fall into the icy waters below. Luckily, her mother was able to drag her out of the water, despite having sustained injuries from charging the larger male off. Those particular injuries made it near impossible for her to continue as a regular member of the Icewatch, while Anweira had been traumatized by the event, and had developed a fear towards being submerged in water and open ice. After a long period of contemplation, Oraneila decided to join one of the merchant caravans, taking her traumatized child with her. Their travels took them through the southern portion of Taldera; from Avanthal to the Spires, and from there to Kajun, where they eventually took a ship to Syliras. During her time on the ship, Anweira would stray no further than the cabin's hatch, not daring to catch sight of the waves below. With their feet upon the earth once again, they travelled from Syliras, making their way down towards Riverfall, where Kelvics were welcomed- or so her mother had heard. Alas, the trip did not fair smoothly, as they attempted to make their way through Kenash, where in a scuffle, Oraneila and her daughter were separated. Anweira was shoved under the tarp of a caravan, just as it began to move. The last sight she could recall was of her mother disappearing around a corner with the shouts of slavers in pursuit. Later, at the caravan's destination, one of the merchants pulled back the tarp, only to find a young child with large, solemn eyes.
