Oliver Burke Appearance Race: Human Gender: Male. Age: 17 Birthday: Spring 8 497 Birthplace: Syliras Appearance: Oliver is average height, but lean and stably built. He keeps his dark brown hair cut short during most of the year, but during winter, he lets it grow out more. His light brown eyes are sharp, and fierce. He wears simple clothes, and a large blue cloak. The cloak is faded, and frayed near the bottom, but warm. When he is on patrol he wears his armor, he keeps his armor as clean as possible. Character Concept Oliver is a quiet boy, but religious, and educated. He enjoys training, but doesn’t often go out of his way to seek friends. He is polite, and doesn’t turn people away. In conversation he is witty, and friendly, if a little aloof. In training he is patient and sharp, though very green and prone to many mistakes. He loves taking time to ride horses in the stables, and practices archery from the saddle when he can. He enjoys to read, and he keeps a journal, and often takes notes throughout the day to help his memory and retention of details. Character History The Burke family is large, and old. They have not gained much fame or notoriety, or even wealth in that time, but they should be considered successful. Oliver has many cousins, in various professions around the city, from farms and hunters to merchants and cleaners. Oliver has been groomed from a young age to be a knight. You could say he is one of the lucky ones in his family. But that is a matter of perspective. Oliver spent his childhood as a page, doing chores, training, learning history and riding horses for various families around the city. When he turned 13 he was moved to the squire dormitories, and became the squire of Devon Glyn. A man who has a history similar to Oliver’s. For 4 years the two men trained, sparred, rode, and patrolled together. Both becoming closer as friends, and better as knights. During the 11 years that Oliver has spent training to be a knight, he has been sent to the infirmary at least once a month from various injuries and training accidents. During his first visit at the age of 6, he encountered the Opal Order. The beautiful women healers, speaking their subtle language stuck with the impressionable young boy. He spent his down time learning what he could about the langue they spoke. It took many years of personal time to even get a basic grasp of the language, but whenever he gets sent to the hospital he practices the language with the Konti healers, and this happens to be one of the few social interactions he enjoys.
