Ah, it was so far quite a productive day for Annalisa Marin as she sat upon a chair within the Common Labs. Of course others might find her simply staring at different items in her hands as being an odd idea of productivity, however the dark haired woman was enjoying what she was learning now that she could truly see. Anna held a quill in her fingers, closing her grey eyes and focusing deep within herself and plucking at the strands of her Djed to create the music of her magic. The harmony was not nearly as powerful as Reimancy or as dully muted as Voiding, but resonated slightly within her mind as she scrunched her face up in concentration.
She opened her eyes, the orbs glazed over in Djed as she beheld the Aura of the Quill within her fingers. It was a dull thing really, very few colors compared to looking upon her own aura and the tastes and feelings were still somewhat muted and dead. It was following the pattern she had observed in the other objects she had looked upon, the inanimate objects seeming to have a lesser aura than living beings. Dull greys, browns, with the occasional inky blackness concentrated around the nib of the quill itself.
Touching that area she could feel as though ink were sliding upon her fingers, the sensation causing the hairs upon the back of her neck to stand on end. She could smell the residual ink that remained upon the nib, the Aura open to all of her senses. She poured more and more of her Djed into maintaining the sight, trying to figure out what this quill really was beyond the obvious. Was the grey perhaps to show that it was an inanimate object? Perhaps that it was a dead thing? She could infer what the black meant, but the other two colors had been prevalent in the other inanimate objects. They tasted tasteless and very much plain and boring.
The Auristical examination was brought to an end by Kouri bursting into her section of the Common Labs, her connection to the magical sight being severed. Grey orbs blinked several times as the Auristical sight was muted and dispelled before falling upon Kouri and her package with a slight widening. The ghost was carrying the form of none other than the Kelvic she had met yesterday, Kalina. Anna was rather surprised at how miserable looking the Sub-Human looked; she was wet and battered all things taken at their value.
Kouri mentioned aloud that she was a Kelvic and Anna barely held back a snarl from being leveled at her rather loud daughter. The last thing she needed to have known was that Kalina was a Kelvic, which was certainly not an advantageous thing to have known. Instead she slowly calmed herself, taking in several meditative cycling breaths taken in through her nose and out through her mouth. Calm, she needed to remain calm and not lash out at Kouri for effectively ruining her subtle manipulations of the Kelvic.
Though… perhaps this might very well solve her problem of needing to figure out what to do with Kalina herself. The Kelvic was obviously going to be frightened silly by Kouri after whatever the ghostly child had done to her, compared to her Anna was far more preferable. At the same time she could slowly start a bit more corruption of Kouri, a win-win scenario as far as the sorceress was concerned. Forcing the two together in order to create one having a desperate need to get back into her good graces, and the other learning to look at slaves as possessions.
“Well, Kalina. I see you did not listen to me. I must say I am… disappointed. Very disappointed. I do believe I told you that bad things could happen to you here if you were not careful. Let me take a stab in the dark, you were traipsing outside around the Citadel after you nearly died the last time. Am I correct? A simple nod or shake of the head will do, and do not lie to me.” Anna said at length, crossing her arms under her breasts and her tone mirroring the displeasure in her words.
“Kouri, this is Kalina. Though it seems you two have already met. Don’t apologize, you did nothing wrong for it was her own fault for waltzing around outside after I saved her life just yesterday. I wonder if that was a waste of my energy now. Especially since she seems so very willing to just toss it aside after being granted mercy once.” The tall woman continued, absolving Kouri of blame easily.
“Now tell me Kalina, what do you have to say for yourself?” Anna pressed, her grey eyes narrowed dangerously at the Kelvic.
