Alva had just woken up for what felt like the millionth time that morning. She had no clue what time it was or if the sun was actually up above the horizon. It was quickly becoming a daily routine. She missed all the sounds of Sunberth. It was simply too quiet on this gods forsaken island. With a groan Alva sat up on the mat and stretched her arms, then her legs and then her back. She was sure Anna was going to have her running all over doing whatever errands she needed to be done. Alva closed her eyes envisioning Rhysol the way she always imagined him and quietly said her prayer.
"Lord Rhysol, instigator of the Valterian, bringer of chaos and evil, may you watch over your devout followers as they commit brutal acts of betrayal, evil and bring chaos throughout the land in your wicked name. You are the one true ruler of this mundane world."
After her daily prayer to Rhysol, Alva was gently rinsed her face with cold water that was in the basin from a day or two before, when there was a not so gentle knock on her door. It was, without a doubt, her mistress. She quickly tidied up her room before going to open the door, dreading the tasks for the day. Making sure she was presentable, Alva opened the door.
"Hello Mistress. How may I assist you today?" She avoided eye contact as she spoke. Her eyes pierced through her almost painfully. Anna often made Alva feel uneasy but she would never let her mistress know this. Gods know what she would do to her.
