4th day of Spring, 514 AV
It had been a long while since Miro had talked to the man designated in his Spot job. Since then a lot had happened though. But he could not help but to think back to that odd meeting. Not even the name of the client was given, just a list of instructions. Don't ask questions was the first, which made things difficult. It was likely why things had gone so slowly. He was to find the slave, her name Tarnelle, a woman who took important documents and fled. What happened to was claimed not to matter, but the documents were to be delivered to Bohir.
Other instructions were mostly a list of things not to do. Not to view the document, interrogate the slave, inquire about the client, admit to the task, or even request the assistance of the families. There were so many handicaps that completion of the task seemed impossible. The only thing truly of use was a small piece of parchment with written bits of information to help track the target and documents. So far it had all meant so little, but out of it came one bit of use, a single lead.
Not just any lead, but the one needed, a man who supposedly knew the location of the slave. It would be somewhat difficult to track the man down, but the day was young, and the Chained One was not alone. He had an ally he could always count on, even with these questionable tasks. The bit of intelligence had only come in recently, and things had kept him busy, but now was the time to act. Or at least it would be after preparations were made.
Miro took his gladius and secured it on his waist, ensured his badge was on his person, but questioned whether or not he should take his staff. He decided against it, despite the risks. Instead he would take his backpack stocked with shackles, waterskin, cloak and a doll. If he were to find this unwanted slave, he would ensure that he had an answer to any problem. Perhaps he could even take this Tarnelle woman as his own servant. As for now there was naught left was to await Lessomm's arrival. From there the task could be explained and they would set out.
