Completed [The Amphitheater] Riverfall Acting (Now With Water)

Alia practices her lines at the amphitheater, even though Riverfall streets are flooded with water

Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

OOCI think we should wrap up the thread soon, guys. Twenty posts and a season later I think we’re good to go :). How about Natsu replies with a regular post, then Lyn or I can end it? (We need Natsu to reply regularly because of all the questions asked of him)

It seemed Alia had met quite the group of people.
Not only could Natsu shapeshift, but Lyn'nice could tell what would grow and what wouldn't. Quite the set of powers, for a tiny clay squirrel and an ordinary-looking woman. Alia was glad she had decided to go out today, despite the water and rain. She had two new acquaintances, and two new races to learn about.

Speaking of learning about races, Alia wondered about what Natsu had meant about shapeshifting. She knew the mouse was made of clay, but she had assumed it was hardened clay, not the molding kind. Then again, if it had been hardened, how would the tiny sculpture move? It certainly wouldn’t be comfortable, even if it was his own skin.

”You can… Shapeshift?”
It seemed like quite a strange thing to do, especially if one did not use magics. Was it some sort of perk to being a pycon? Could they mold themselves at will, as if molding a sculpture? Then again, they were sculptures, weren’t they? Pycons were just tiny molded creatures, given the ability to live and breath. More living than breathing though, as it seemed like it would be hard to breath in lungs made of clay.

”I mean, could you mold yourself easily, so if you wanted, say, smaller or larger wings, could you just get someone to manipulate them, and it would be done? Or can you just wish it to happen, and it becomes so?”
It was an interesting topic, and Alia was learning quite a lot from her two newest companions. Konti were part fish, Pycons were made entirely out of clay, and Riverfall was the place where misfits met.

Lyn spoke to Natsu next, once again offering to share a seat with the Pycon for Alia’s play. She was looking forward to the play, as it would be a rare opportunity to show off her skills to someone who actually cared, instead of just a regular audience. Not that a regular audience was bad, but having friends watching made the entire thing seem more… Special. Like she had something to prove, as if her friends were the judge of her skill, though they weren’t.

While Lyn’nice spoke on about the play, Alia let her mind drift, thinking about friendships, Pycons, the Konti, her mind washed over all of the topics like a wave. Questions flooded her mind, mostly about Pycons, as they were so different. She wondered about many things, if Pycons could float if they changed form to a boat, if they could fly if they crafted themselves wings… As Lyn’nice finished talking, Alia made a note to ask Natsu her questions later. Right now, though, she spoke to Lyn’nice.

”Thanks for coming, both of you. I mean, coming here, and planning to come to the play. I hope to see you again sometime…”
Alia swiped a look at the now near-setting sun, trying to indicate that it was far too late to continue talking for much longer. ”...but for now, I think this is goodbye.”

To travel the world may seem a worthy quest
but the true challange is leaving behind
those you have come to love

Natsu grinned widely at his new friends and the curiousity which they held for him. It was unusual to be asked so many questions at once, even for him, but he found himself slightly enjoying the attention "
Well as beings of Clay, Pycons are known for theor abilityto shapeshift, but I personally have not done very much of it myself. Usually it takes many years for a Pycon to discover what form he or she is most comfortable in, but I found mine so quickly I didn't learn too much about shifting forms" he answered Lyn'nice and Alia politely, his tail almost wagging in excitement.

"
It's not quite as simple as wishing, it takes focus, and for me I need to study a change for a while before... for example-" the clay figure closed his eyes and dropped to all fours, his thin tail become much more puffed, much like a squirrel. The change only lasted but a few moments before slipping back to its original size. He glanced back up and pushed himself up to a sitting position "the process is slightly tiring, but the possibilities are endless. The only stipulation is that we cannot grow in size while changing form, the clay we consume keeps our form stable"

Natsu nodded enthusiastically at Lyn'nice's offer, already excited to see the finished product of the budding actress before them. As the group said their farewells, Natsu gave Alia a gentle bow, flapping his small wings as he did so and grinning even wider than before "
Though this may be farewell, it is not goodbye, for we shall see you again soon" the Pycon quipped, and as the group parted ways, Natsu riding along on the Konti's shoulder, the dusk seemed to beckon them towards rest, and the adventures that awaited them with the rising sun.

I wish to see the world, yes that much is true. It is also true that one such as myself will have a much better view on the shoulder of a close friend

Note: This is actually the first thread I've read with Alia and I can say I'm really impressed with your writing. I really got into the acting scene you wrote, made me want to actually know what the rest of the play was about, haha. I thought the irritation that Alia portrayed about the scriptwriter always killing her off was hilarious. So yeah, well written, good job!

Note: Bro, your PC is hilarious. Every time something startled him and he yelped I couldn't help but grin. The way you wrote his reaction to things happening around him painted a fantastic picture in my imagination of what was happening. It was awesome. It's always fun to see a PC such as that. So well done!

Notes :
Good stuff guys. Really great dynamic, I really enjoyed the use of the Seasonal Calendar floods, it's always cool to see how you all will use it in your writings. Keep up the good work!

Please make sure to edit the post to "graded" in the Request forum. Thanks!
