This shining population center is considered the jewel of The Sylira Region. Home of the vast majority of Mizahar's population, Syliras is nestled in a quiet, sprawling valley on the shores of the Suvan Sea. [Lore]
"Hm. The Rearing Stallion..." Ixion mumbled between the two. "It sounds like a real kick in the ass. I love it!"
With the destination set, Ixion trailed behind the friendly, yet distant Atharea. The infamous, ever imposing stone walls became his main focus as the two ventured towards the Main Gates in an effort to locate the tavern. As they walked, Ixion made note of many peculiarities Syliras contained.
The first was the ever constant presence of the Syliras Knights at just about every corner. Each of them were armed to the teeth with clunky plate mail covering a majority of them from head to toe. It certainly was an imposing sight. No doubt it was a rewarding job, but Ixion didn't think for a second to be envious of them. Naturally, as a thief, he made a mental note to try to keep track of some obvious locations for the knights to be as to avoid being under their scrutinizing gaze for at least a short while. Course, this proved a much harder task than he first imagined. It might have been paranoia, but he couldn't help feeling that the knights somehow had something against him. Looking down at his dark Myrian skin, he couldn't quite point out the problem.
Second, the enormous roofs that sheltered the large districts of Syliras. The idea of the ultimate game of hide and seek came to mind as Ixion eyed the winding corridors they passed. While it would be pretty easy to hide in the confines of the distracts, the thought of running would be an entirely different story. Since it was indoors, it was obvious that each path had one simple way around it. Anyone attempting to run would be blocked off, found, and captured. Even as a novice as an escape artist, these details stamped a big no at the idea of starting any commotion within the districts. The possible ideas sent a slight shiver down Ixion's spine.
Lastly, there was the diversity the city held. While the area held predominately humans, there still could be seen the occasional person from a different part of Mizahar. Ixion and his companion were prime examples as people were able to pass by them without a second glance. Thinking of his companion, the Vantha in front of him still held him in a mysterious trance. What could such a aloof girl want to be in such a place?
"Hey, you mentioned this was your first time back in quite a while, right? asked Ixion. "What were you doing that had you come back here?"
"If I answered your question," Athera replied, "I'd have to tell you about my past, of which I have no interest of doing." Why should she tell him about the deaths of her whole family? When she was five, her mother died of a miscarriage. A week later, her father had committed suicide. But this man didn't need to know any of it. He didn't need to know of her sister's death of pneumonia when she was ten. Why did he care? He'd just regret asking her anyway. "Besides, why do you care?"
Athaera was protective of her past, and her eyes returned to a radiant red. It wasn't his place to know of her past, the past she'd desperately been trying to bury with the future. But the more she tried to forget it, the more she remembered. She hadn't been able to see her mother die... both a blessing and a curse... and her father hadn't even said goodbye. A childish anger for him still brewed in her veins, for leaving her without a warning. She felt her eyes preparing to tear up, and she quickly pulled herself out of her daydream.
Seeing that the road they were going to held a house of a childhood friend, she veered to the left and continued on, making two more rights and returning on track. "Bad memories," she explained, knowing his excessive curiosity would cause him to ask.

Ixion allowed her answer to stagnant in the air as his own past rose to his mind. At least, what he could remember of it. He was a slave, and it was for no reason other than to become coin in someone's pouch. Beaten, drugged, and all other kinds of mistreated for almost a year, the excitable young man had once only been an empty husk of a person. His redemption came at the price of blood. It was nothing anyone needed to know about, so he completely understood what it was like to want to hide your past. He wouldn't burden the girl by trying to pry into her own matters.
Knowing better than to dwell on the past, he quickly pushed aside the memories in favor of her question. She wondered why he cared, but his answer was written all over her. Even from the side, he could see the glaring red in her eyes return, and the sudden tension in her voice choked back many emotions. There was even the moment where they avoided a section of the main path just to return a few steps later. It was obvious that there was pain beneath the surface, and he hoped there was a way to help her out. If there was anyone that could ignore this kind of scar on a girl, he didn't want to meet them. Ever. Still, he kept the answer to himself to avoiding barging into her affairs. Instead, he picked up the pace to get in front of her. Putting a gentle hand on her shoulder, he shined a carefree smile to communicate to her that it was okay for her to hide. "I know what you mean." he said as he used his free hand to point behind him. "Come on, let's use today to make some good ones."
They had reached The Rearing Stallion, but they were in for at least one surprise.
As they neared the building, Athaera realized it was only one level tall and not nearly large enough to host guests. "Well, we might as well eat something while we're here," she suggested, noting the existence of her immense hunger, "We can ask someone inside where to stay."
She pulled her hood down and smoothed down her short hair, which was scattered with knots and... somehow, a blade of grass. She didn't want to seem messy and homeless, though she kind of was.
"Sorry, I guess I wasn't exactly eligible for the position of guide," she said. They entered the building to find a crowded room with a minuscule amount of barmaids. Athaera made her way to a table far in the corner, wanting to be farther away from all the people and noise.

Notes :
Even though this thread was posted by Athaera, I found myself like just reading Ixion's solo because you barely give him anything to work with, Ath. Please make your posts at least 300-400 words.
But well, enjoy your grades.
A note: You can't live in a tent outside the city, especially with no Wilderness Survival Skills, Athaera. I'll let it slide this time, please rectify this, by hiring a room in the Traveler's Row, it is just 7 GM for a whole season rent.
My radiance is not bright enough?
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your grade, beam me a PM and we can work it out.
