Emptiness. Nothingness. That which spanned on for all eternity, which was all encompassing and drifted on and on forever and ever. It was massive and insignificant, powerful in its flexibility and its ever static existence which enveloped a dimension so vast as to be unimaginable. The concept of that idea of emptiness filled the mind of one individual, one dark haired human woman that sat upon a chair in the Sahovan Common Labs with her legs crossed. Breath cycled through her nose and exited out her mouth periodically and in a controlled manner. The area of the Common Labs she was located in was rather isolated, a space cleared as workstations and other chairs were pushed against the walls or out of the way at least.
Wizard Annalisa Marin appeared isolated from world, her mind slowly becoming a fortress of calm as she focused upon her breathing and that concept of infinite emptiness. Once the sorceress had scoffed at the idea of meditation, however it was something she truly found assisted in dealing with the exertions of casting. So she often tried to meditate as much as she could before actually casting, it also afforded her rest that she was unable to gain from sleeping. Her dreams were beset with nightmares, but meditation made her mind untouchable by the horrors of her sleep.
With each cycled breath her mind became less cluttered, the sanctuary being built up more and more by each mental brick. Blessed nothingness started to creep upon her mind to grant clarity, the concept of the Void becoming more and more clear to the sorceress. One might wonder why she bothered with such things when she was nearly unmatched in regards to both her Glyphing and Reimantic prowess, though for Anna it was simple. She felt there was so much untapped potential, that Voiding could possibly be stronger than reimancy even.
Finally her mind reached a soothing calm state, where only the Void filled her up and unlike her nightmares it was a calming feeling. Not that she was trapped by the dimension of emptiness, but rather that she was one with it. An idea that she could control her Voiding abilities and that she was well enough in control of them. The hallucinations often disrupted her casting regarding the Void, irritating Anna and disrupting her research but the meditation often assisted her in maintaining a bit more self-control.
Anna held this state of mind for a moment before standing and stretching lightly, holding this clarity in her mind as long as possibly as she rolled her shoulders to prepare to create the initial bridge. It was generally accepted in Sahova that most serious wizards knew at least a bit of Voiding, however Anna had never actually met a wizard yet that had reached the heights of its power as she had with reimancy. What kind of sorceress would the dark haired pulser be if she didn’t push the limits of her magic beyond the accepted conventions, to be ever evolving?
The human looked rather unremarkably dressed, a brown tunic, trousers, and sandals making up the full attire of her appearance. Her long dark hair was pulled into a high ponytail, adding an almost regal look to her appearance as the bangs framed her rather plain and unremarkable face. Storm cast eyes were open and surveying the open space around her, plotting out the path she would be taking for this experiment. Upon her right ring finger was a silver ring encrusted with rubies and possessing the sigil of a burning scroll upon it, which signified her rank as a wizard of the Sahovan Citadel.
Anna held a hand out before her and focused deeply on that concept of infinite emptiness, letting it fill her up again as she also attempted to center upon the tapestry of her Djed. That pool of energy that made up her very being, the power that all creatures could use and expend to manipulate the natural world around them. It came with a price when abused though, and it was a price that the tall woman knew only all too well. To overgive and slowly have one’s mind slip into complete madness, a horrible fate for any wizard really.
“Sutla Gug. Gug Sutla.”
“Sutla Gug. Gug Sutla.”
“Sutla Gug. Gug Sutla.”
The incantations dripped from Anna’s lips as she focused, used to further sharpen her ability to draw upon her Djed in a more efficient manner. They held no real magical power in and of themselves but the sorceress was well aware of how much any wizards could benefit from them, those that scoffed at gestures and incantations were fools really. One should never cast aside a tool out of hand simply because they thought themselves beyond it, such was folly really.
Anna gathered that pool of energy within her and focused it to a singular point near her outstretched hand, moving it and tasking it. The tall woman’s face was a mask of concentration as she willed the Djed to empty out all matter from the space near her hand, to open a tear into the natural material of this dimension. Nothing happened at first, but the Voiding was hardly a speedy discipline and Anna was hardly a master of its manipulation.
Within ten ticks of her willing this to occur Anna felt a rush of energy fly from her body as an inky black dot bordered in purple came into existence, drawing upon her vital energy to sustain itself. A bridge between This Side and The Other Side had formed, though it was still newborn and merely a spark. Anna focused her energy into the freshly created Portal, stabilizing its existence in this dimension. The Sorceress could feel the cold washing out from the swirling vortex of night, the Void being a dimension of nothingness this hardly surprised Anna.
Once the tall woman was certain she had stabilized the Portal she slowly began to feed the hungry vortex of night an increased influx of her Djed, steadily and slowly willing the tiny Portal to grow. The construct slowly but surely expanded, continuously leeching at the human’s vital energy to sustain itself. Teeth grit themselves as it grew to the size of a fist, then a head, only keeping on expanding as she increased the influx of her Djed upon the Portal.

“Sutla Gug. Gug Sutla.”
Anna kept on expanding it, a thrill of pleasure coursing down her spine as casting euphoria teased at her mind to send pulses of warmth through her body. The urge was always there, whispering for her to cast just a little bit more and go beyond her limits. It was always there, it waited for her when she started casting and urged her to keep going. It was a primal feeling that insidiously wanted her to destroy herself for the sake of the pleasure she could gain. Anna was not so foolish however and merely focused upon keeping control as she expanded the Portal to the size of the average man. This was where it would start to really get dangerous.
