Appearance: Gabarrey Banly is a tall man, though not very muscled - in fact, he appears to be quite thin. Despite this, he is of average strength, and can use the weapons he’s trained in with enough strength to be of use. Gabarrey is not particularly handsome, and his face is quite “blocky”. His nose and chin are both quite sharp and long, both family features. His chin is usually covered by a half-grown beard; shaving daily is a waste of time, after all. His brows are quite large, and almost collide. Gabarrey is as of yet unscarred, though with his occupation, that is bound to change sooner or later..
Character ConceptGabarrey Banly is a rogue-ish man, with no love for nobility. More importantly, he is a hunter, though not a “simple” deer hunter, for Gaberrey Banly, the basterd that he is - quite literally - a hunter of rare creatures. These are preferably monsters of quite some size and renown, as they make for nice trophies, but any rare or mystical creature will do. While he is yet to have killed one of these, Gabarrey has a clear purpose and will not stop until it is completed. This does, however, not mean that he won’t do anything - as long as it will, in the end, further his means of completing his goal, or giving him a chance to finally spot one of those beasts!
Gabarrey is not a religious man, though he acknowledges the existence of the gods. He’s no big fan of preachers and other religious “officials”. Rather, he finds them to be a nuisance and tries to avoid or ignore them as much as possible.
Character HistoryGabarrey Banly was born as the fifth son of the minor noble family of the Banly’s. This meant that, while living a good life, he had no hope of ever receiving anything himself - everything would, after all, go to his eldest brother after the passing of his father. Gabarrey realised this at a young age, and instead of lording it over others like many other young nobles, he found other interests. He soon became very interested in magical creatures and monsters. While he had seen some of the other, non-human races before, these were quite interesting to him, but that interest was shortly afterwards swallowed by his “love” for monsters. Gabarrey read a lot of books as a child, mainly about monsters and their like, but also on nobility. In these books, he read some of the less fine examples of the behaviour of those with noble blood, and when comparing this to his own family, he found out that they were not that different.
Later on in his youth, Gabarrey still spent much of his time reading, but also training with the sword and crossbow. He would one day become a famous monster hunter, he told himself, and he’d better prepare! Soon after his nameday, in the spring, he left the family house and the city, and ventured into the wild, on the hunt for adventure, and
big, ugly monsters! While so far a bit disappointed with the latter, Gabarrey still travels from city to city, and roams the wilds on the hunt for prey.

PossessionsHeirloom: Gabarrey always carries his sturdy old crossbow with him: an heirloom received from his grandfather the day he left. It is a fine work of craftsmanship, made from oaken wood and steel playing. The bow has taken the life of many a beast (and men, for that matter!). A heavy crossbow for all purposes.
