Solo/ The Arma'Drex Smithy
Shi had been wandering the streets all day, mostly looking for something to do. Riverfall was nice, almost too nice. And yes, while Shijara was one of the friendlier visitors, it was still a little exhausting to be surrounded by men who were polite to her (for the most part) all day, every day. In no way was she ready to be harassed, but maybe a little something to shake things up would have been a fresh change of pace.
She needed to find something to do. She needed to get into some trouble. Or... maybe just blow off a few mizas. After looking at her coin purse, she decided she had a little extra to spare. But what did she want to buy first? Not exactly a shopaholic, the Chaktawe still enjoyed the feeling of a new dress, or a darling trinket. None of that would do, sadly. She wanted something bigger. Something... dangerous.
As she walked, Shijara nearly missed the perfect destination. Wedged into the stone frame was a wooden door, one that seemed out of place, causing the woman to stop as it caught the corner of her eye. She turned, examining the entrance. It looked almost like it was bulging, a dam ready to burst. Shi took a step closer and lifted her hand to give a tentative, curious knock when an Akalak came bounding out, looking at her in surprise when she jumped back.
"Oh, sorry. Excuse me." The Akalak just gave a laugh and held the door open for her. So it isn't a home... Signs and such did little for the dark haired woman. Unable to read, to her they could have meant, or said anything. She quietly slipped inside the residence, keeping her footsteps light and soundless as she moved.
It was hard to know why she was sneaking about. Perhaps just being in an unknown location made her more careful. Tiptoeing purposefully forward, Shijara was greeted with two chambers, one going left, the other right. She veered left and paused to listen, hoping to catch a hint or two of conversation.
Someone's voice filled the air, the closer she got to the opening of a room, "Hello?" The greeting was deep and masculine. Shijara peeked her head around the corner.
The sight awed her. Inside were weapons galore. Daggers, swords, kukri, maces, axes, everything. For a moment she stayed silently, only looking. After a few more ticks, her voice came out in a breathless state, "Wow. This is a weapons shoppe." The words were mostly to herself and she moved around, eyeing the wares. She looked at the weaponsmith excitedly, "Can I buy something?"
The man raised an eyebrow, "I don't see why not."
Shijara continued to move around, pausing to look at the displays. Her dark orbs skimmed over each blade and sharp point carefully. She could feel Haiduk watching her, the watchful gaze of his eyes heavy on her back when she stopped, "Is this a... kris?"
Flashes of memory played in her mind, her uncle training her as a small child in the art of the waved blade. Shaped liked the dunes of the desert, her uncle had said, the kris was an honorable blade. She had not touched one in years. She gently ran her fingers along the metal, its steel as black and as dark as her own eyes. It's perfect.
Turning to the weaponsmith, she pulled out her coin purse and smiled bright, "This one, please." The Akalak stared at the weapon, smiling and nodding. Good choice. He thought so too. Soon, he was giving her the price and handing her the weapon after receiving payment.
Shijara held the new blade reverently, turning it over in her hand, careful not to cut herself. Wouldn't that have been embarrassing! As she got ready to leave, the soft smile of the Akalak stopped her. "My name is Haiduk. This is the Arma'Drex Smithy. Come back for more weapons. Other chamber is for armor and armorsmith, Loriim."
The new information was useful and she nodded enthusiastically, and in thanks, sheathing the new blade. It was lovely, and she was itching to try it out. "Thank you!" No longer sneaking, Shi went bounding down the hall, towards the exit, hanging her new prize proudly at her side.
oocPrice list says a kris is 5gm. If the grade says different, I'm more than happy to update my CS to such.
