Aoren sat quietly reviewing notes from the classes he had attended at the University thus far. In the past few days he had learned more about magic than he had ever expected to in the whole of his life. The sheer amount of knowledge that was to found at the University was staggering to the Drykas man. After a long day of studying with his teacher and doing a fair bit of research in the library he had retired to his room. Shortly after getting there he had fed and bathed his faithful companion. Isikai currently lay at his feet, the dog having been tuckered out after Aoren had taken him for a run. All in all, it had been a very productive day. Still there was something else that Aoren wanted to do.
Standing up from his bed he was careful not to bother his dog. Isikai merely raised his head fixing Aoren with a curious look before making himself comfortable again. Walking up to the window he brushed his fingers over the glass studying the grain of it for a moment. He tapped each pane before thinking quietly to himself looking out at the landscape of the campus for a few breaths. Inhaling steadily he closed his eyes drawing upon the inner focus he would need to accomplish what he intended to do. Slowly he sifted through his thoughts concentrating not on emptying his mind but a singular thought to the exclusion of all others.
As the noise of a busy mind faded he reached for his Djed. With a concentrated effort he propelled his Djed into motion drawing upon it opening his eyes watching as it manifested in his hands. He stared at the Djed furrowing his brow willing more to be produced until he was certain he might have enough. Reaching up he placed both hands to the window mentally commanding the Djed to stick to its surface. While it took a little concentrated effort the command was eventually obeyed. Once that was finished Aoren began the slow work of spreading the Djed over the surface of the window. He began in one corner watching as his Djed lingered there before he began to spread it with gentle prodding of his fingers.
As he worked with the Djed he instilled in it the properties of a rudimentary Shield. He wove the threads of the construct to form a protective barrier over the surface of the glass. All the while he pushed and pulled at the Djed he focused on tasking it with the singular purpose of blocking out sunlight. While it was slow going at first the eventual flickering of the sunlight streaming through the corner of the window he was working on told him the tasking was falling into place. Carefully he kept pulling at the edges of the Djed until a quarter of the window was covered by the Shield. Reaching for that mental clarity once again, Aoren produced more Djed to weave into the fabric of his Shield.
