The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

It was almost time for Kaik to work at the studio again. Before heading out Kaik puts on his new leather hood he got from the market and says goodbye to Arya. Just as he was about to leave a wooden hands reaches for his hand, stopping him. Kaik looks behind him to see it was indeed Arya, he turns around, Arya still gripping his hand. Kaik bends down and looks into Arya's eyes trying to understand what she wanted. Her wooden hand begins to shake, Kaik places his other hand on her head trying to calm her down. Kaik was almost certain Arya didn't want him to leave. He wasn't sure if Arya could understand but he felt the need to ask her two questions "Do you hate me for giving you these emotions?" Arya immediately shakes her head Did I program her so she would say that or is that what she herself believes... this thought troubled him for a few chimes. The second question "Would you like to come with me?" She nods her head.
Kaik adorned her in a used leather cloak and hood That should cover most of her He had planned to take Arya outside when he bought the hood and cloak, but he didn't expect it to be so soon. The whole idea of buying the outfit was to prevent her from drawing in a crowd, she was a golem after all. She looked happy, though it wasn't evident from her face it was what Kaik called just a feeling. He takes Arya's hand and led her outside.
Arya looked at nothing and no one except Kaik, always looking down at the ground as instructed by him. Kaik held her hand tightly, afraid he might lose her in the crowds. The two push on until they arrive at the doors of the studio. He knocks before entering the studio. He shuts the door behind him, the sounds of the streets now replaced with silence. At the desk Maeki is buried in her work, literally as the room looks even more cluttered than the last time they met. She greets Kaik "Welcome back...who's this? I didn't know you had a chi-" Maeki stops to gaze in wonder as Kaik pulls down Arya's hood. Maeki promptly left her desk leaving a few inches between her and Arya. Fear takes Arya as she hides behind Kaik. "My!...did you make her yourself? She's adorable!" She asked not bothering to look at Kaik. "Um...yes...was it okay to bring her?" Kaik said, Maeki responded "Yes yes! She's too cute!" Arya's fear spread to Kaik, though his fear was more like watching a daughter walk into the The Red Lantern. "What needs to get done today Meaki?" Kaik's question appeared to break Maeki's "curiosity". "Right! We got a lot that we must get done...I need you to take a package to this place" She gives Kaik a peice of paper detailing the way he needed to go. Kaik decided to leave behind Arya, though it was obvious Arya was sad to see him go. With a quick pat to her head Kaik leaves to deliver the package.
Kaik arrives at a normal house, though it looked larger than any normal house. He knocks at the door, awaiting the tenets. When the door opened he was greeted by two children, a boy and girl both the same age to each other. "You're the ani-ani-animator! Ma and Pa aren't home but said you'd come" The boys says pleased to see I had the package in hand. "Hurry hurry! I want to see the toy! Please!" The girl said looking just as overjoyed as her brother. The package Kaik held was a box, he wasn't sure what was inside but the children soon ripped it to bits revealing a doll and a puppet. "Wait! Aren't they supposed to move!" The boy said. Don't tell me...ah! Maeki you klutz! You didn't animate the toys! No choice. "Can I come inside? I'd like to animated the toys for you two." as Kaik is ushered in, he asks another question "Can I have some ink?" Quickly a bottle of ink is placed in his hand. Kaik warns the kids to stay a distance away furthermore they were not to touch the circles or anything in them, they nod their heads. He asks a few more additional question about what they want from their toys, Kaik felt capable of fulfilling the request.
Kaik draws relatively small animation circles on the ground using ink. He was conflicted if he should try animating the two toys at the same time, but decided against that knowing he shouldn't be experimenting with a customer's product. Picking up the doll first he places it in one circle while he stood in the other. Closing his eyes the animation circles begin to glow black, the children viewed the spectacle in awe. The process took a long while but eventually the black glow of the circle fades. Kaik gives the go ahead for the girl to pick up the doll. The doll springs to life in her hands, awaiting her orders from the girl. The girl held the doll close to her chest, clearly delighted as she thanked Kaik repeatedly. |

The girl leaves to play with the doll in some other room. Kaik picks up the puppet and places it inside the animation circles. He repaints the circles to make sure there were no gaps in the lines. Once again Kaik begins the animating process signaled by the glow of the circles. There was no need to change it to be any more different than the other toy, so the process was straightforward but still took the same amount of time. The animation done the boy snatches the puppet and heads to the same room as the girl. Kaik sighs, annoyed the delivery took longer than expected. Just as he was about to leave he could hear laughter coming from the children's room, Kaik leaves for the studio happy he was able to bring some joy into those two kid's hearts.
Upon entering Maeki's house Kaik heard a commotion coming from the animation studio. Taking a few steps into the studio he was greeted with a strange scene. Arya is sitting in corner, her knees up as she stared at Maeki trying to feed her cake with a spoon. "Um Maeki you-, er...what are you doing?" Kaik said puzzled. Maeki looks toward him and says, "Ah! You're back! Oh? I'm trying to feed her cake?" Hearing Kaik's voice Arya's head shot toward his direction to make sure it really was him, confirming it was him she darted behind Kaik. Kiak knew Maeki was an expert in Animation, but for the past few days he felt she was a bit foolish "Maeki...Arya can't eat...she's a golem," Kaik explained. "Well I just wanted to see her reaction, it was so cute how she waited for you like a puppy! It took you awhile to deliver the package, did something happen?" She answered back. Kaik told her about his ordeal with the package, Maeki apologetically responds, "Sorry! I didn't mean to make you do all that...I must have placed them in the finished pile."Finished pile? That exists? Kaik thought as he looked over the studio.
To start the night shift Kaik and Maeki enjoy a cup of tea and some cake. Arya stood at her master's side, occasionally given a glance by Maeki. Kaik just couldn't understand Maeki's interest in his golem, Surely she's seen many golems like her he reasoned. With the tea and cake done it was time to get to work. Kaik gets to works compiling a finished and an unfinished pile, while Maeki works on another Animation. Arya helped with what she could delivering the right papers and items to Kaik, although her skill in reading was what slowed her down. The room still looked like a mess but at the very least it was now obvious what was done and not done. Kaik wondered how long his work would last, hoping it could endure half a season. With the organizing done, the bulk of Kaik's work ,animating, came next. Using some ink new animation circles were created a distance away from the main one. Today's requests seemed to be very simple ones, asking for a lock to close itself during the daytime or for a clock to gong at times that are requested of it. Kaik was starting to get used to the continuous workload he was given. After completing three requests, he soon felt his limit. Not physically, but Mentally tired. Manipulating and transferring, memories was no simple task. The feeling was like reading a good book without getting a break all day and night. Noticing Maeki was finished with her animation Kaik begins to walk toward her but slips and falls head first unto the ground.
The fall didn't leave anything serious on him, but Arya seemed to act like he was dying. Arya drops herself unto Kaik trembling, unsure what else she must do she looks into her master's eyes asking for an order. Kaik smiles rubbing her head showing her everything was alright. Maeki showed a wistful smile to the two. It was the first time Kiak saw her show such a mournful expression. He gets back up on his feet, taking a moment to check his movements, there were a few scratches on his face and arms but other than that he was okay. Feeling himself ready to animate he places a client's item into the circle and begins the process. Maeki steps over to her desk and takes a seat, finishing up any required papers for the night. |

"Kaik I need you to deliver another package, here's the directions" Maeki hands Kaik a box and a piece paper with the directions. "Don't worry I already checked the box, it's good," She said. Kaik heads for the door looking back at Arya, he decided to bring her along this time. "Ah! You're bringing her!? She's fine here!" Maeki said hoping for him to leave Arya. Arya went with Kaik anyway to Maeki's dismay.
Outside Arya had her hood up and her head down, as she held unto her master's hand. Approaching the point of destination Kaik knocks on the door of the client's house. It opens and behind it stood a tall man around thirty "Your package" Kaik said giving him the box. "Thanks," he said bowing before closing the door. With the delivery done Kaik heads back to the studio.
Approaching the door to Maeki's house crashing could be heard from the studio. Kaik hurried to the studio to see what was wrong. A young man was hiding in the entryway, as soon as he saw Kaik he begged him to go get help. Kaik enters the studio ignoring the young man. A wooden golem a few inches shorter than Kaik ran amok the room, creating an even more trashed room. Maeki tries her best to restrain the golem, Kaik quickly goes to assist. The golem seemed to be made out of wood yet it had the strength to move even with Maeki and Kaik restraining it. "Arya! Take my dagger!" Kaik shouted. Arya promptly takes the dagger, "Good! Now stab this thing!" Kaik commanded. She continually stabs the left side of the golem's stomach, the golem continues it's rampage. "Knees! Stab the knees!" The golem falls with one hit to the knee. Kaik and Maeki kept it pinned to the ground as Kaik ordered Arya to stab every single joint on it's body. What was left of the golem shuddered before finally stopping.
Maeki was about to explain what happened but Kaik stopped her already having an idea of what happened. The kid, who was long gone, had moved the golem as Maeki was animating. Kaik told her what he believed happen and she nods. Kaik looks at Arya who stood by his side and began to pat her head, the best he could do to thank her. Arya holds out the dagger, Kaik takes it and sheathes it. "I think some tea would be good will do both of us good" Maeki said drained from animating and dealing with that golem. Kaik agrees all three of walk to the kitchen. Sitting in the kitchen the two enjoy their tea, both feeling worn out from the day's work. Kaik felt bitter that his "done" and "not done" piles didn't even last the day, even more to add to his bitterness was cleaning up the mess that golem created. He took his time drinking the tea. Maeki does the same. When both of their cups were finally empty they walked back to the studio room to clean up the clutter.
It was nearing morning, the room looking better than it once was. The "done" and "not done" piles were also reestablished. Kaik was nearly done with all of his assignments, he had but one animation left before he was free to go back home. Maeki was finished with all her work, so she played with Arya...needless to say Arya was still fearful of her. Kaik opens his eyes causing the glow of the circles to vanish, meaning he had completed his work. He says goodbye to Maeki, taking Arya by the hand he sets out for home. Maeki calls out to him, "Feel free to bring Arya to the studio whenever you want!" Kaik closes the door behind him, chuckling at Maeki's likeness for Arya. Just another day at the studio I suppose. |

Notes:
Nice post length Kaik! Keep that up!
However… I can’t award xp for those animation processes, for reasons you know already, sorry. Though, might I suggest to focus on one creation or aspect of your job instead of multiple ones at the same time? That way xp might come easier, but I don’t know how your enjoyment of writing will evolve… The thread itself was really fun to read though, good work!
