Hi, if you wanted to self moderate, or have another moderate a family member - say a parent or aunt - do you have to get permission from a storyteller?

You don't usually need permission to self-moderate family members, however, if you're going to use them regularly, you'll want to apply at the Help Desk to have them as a personal NPC (with all the applicable rules). Family members are usually pretty easy to get approved though, especially if you're not getting any concrete benefits from them (no free money! ).
