Their venture yesterday had led them completely out of Mirahil Pass as the vast open reaches of the wilderness stretched before them, yet the sun had descended low enough to where they had little choice but to make camp. With their venture started the road just seemed to stretch on with no end, as the group that traveled with the merchant peddler hadn't expected for face the great outdoors yet alone leave behind the precious little one that they could not bring along. Hannah and Ricky were up taking down the pitched ten they had shared for the night while Telion finished rolling up their bedrolls, in turn placing all their travel gear in the wagon that carried their goods. Once the three had finished that part of their chores the merchant that served as their guide made sure the animals carrying their cargo were fed and watered, and then not long afterwards the caravan itself finally started its march onward down the Kabrin road.
The rays of Syna had yet to dawn on them but the early light of dawn was about to break, therefore the bells of the twilight period were midway between transition when they'd finally just started moving. It was all too surreal for Ricky really, being back out here in the wilderness once more. Before when he'd journeyed outside the boundaries of Zeltiva he found himself in a state of wanderlust that guided him onward, ever so adventurous in an effort to find what he'd sought at the time he'd left. He was foolish to think he would've found his mother of course but even then that wasn't the point of the journey, the point in general was the search for who he was since he hadn't any idea where to begin. Of course when he came home he knew right then who he was, a simple fisherman who never needed to leave home to begin with. Even then there was much he had to learn, much he had gone through up until this point. Now that he was leaving again... he didn't want to go at all.
He looked back behind them as they kept moving forward, eyes fixated on the two tall mountains that stood higher than the rest. Mirahil Pass was still not too far away, if given the chance they could turn back now and just call off this whole thing... but alas that couldn't happen. Everyone else was dead set on getting him to a healer, everyone else wanted him to survive and in turn shouldered the burden of his own responsibility. This time he wasn't alone. This time he had others with him, others waiting for him as they would journey forth into the Wildlands. Oi'll be 'ome soon Martin, we all will Oi promise. Yet even if he silently vowed this, soon wasn't even bound to come soon enough.
"So this is the Wildlands. It's certainly... different, from what I expected anyway." Telion remarked as she drew close to Ricky while they walked, she grasped his hand in both of hers and he in turn entwined his fingers with hers.
"Just what were ye expectin' love?" He asked as he kept looking forward, wishful thoughts spent on the idea that Syliras would suddenly appear on the horizon.
"I don't know really, some harsh untamed landscape plagued with monsters over every hill?" The two of them looked to one another before they exchanged chuckles, Hannah quick to join in as she walked next to the yoke horse with the occasion stroke on it's mane.
"Watch out for the squirrels Teli," She called over her shoulder with a look towards the two, "they can be vicious bastards." She raised her eyebrows then as she spoke in a slightly ominous tone, of course the end result was the three of them laughing together.
"Don't worry love, 'alf de time its actually quiet out 'ere. So long as we stay on de Kabrin road we'll be fine." Ricky assured his beloved with a smirk, confident that they would make it through practically unscathed... so long as nothing jumped out and attacked them.
"I believe you." She remarked with eyes set forward on the road, she only glanced up to Ricky once though before she continued to admire the scenery. "I just didn't think seeing this much lang would be so beautiful." He looked to her then out of curiosity.
Beautiful? He followed her eyes then and in turn realized what she'd been mainly watching, while they walked they could see the rise of Syna as she broke over the horizon. The dew of the grass sparkled and shone like stars all adorned across the green, and then for once Ricky finally found himself on the same page as Telion. This place was beautiful. Dangerous to be sure but when you put that aside, the Wildlands was just another unique place that thrived in its own unique ways. And so they continued forward as they made their way along the road, pressed onward to cover as many miles they could within the day with hopes to make it to their destination in due time.
