Usually you have to find someone to teach it to you. Further learning can be gained by reading about it in books, or further teaching.

The person who wishes to gain Auristics must meditate. There are numerous things you can meditate about but I think the best way is to meditate on what makes things what they are. Your character must understand that nothing is singular; everything is made up of many parts that make it what it is; and have an intense desire to look into the nature of things. You should read this where PC Annalisa Marin gains her Auristics. It's a perfect example of how to do it right.
