Nasira Appearance Gender: Female Race: Human, Benshira Age: 15 Birthday: 5th of Spring, 499 AV Personality In contrast to her mother, who is often described by those who knew her as a tragic, soft-spoken figure burdened by guilt and by the disgrace of her blackened palms, Nasira is a regular fire-cracker. Fierce, brash, curious, and headstrong, she tends to charge headlong into life without really stopping to think about it. People look at her and tend to describe her as fearless, playful, and perhaps a little impulsive, with a stubborn streak a mile wide. While she has a temper, Nasira tends to be friendly to all. She feels strongly, so when she's angry, she's really angry, and when she's happy, she's really happy. She lives an intense life, and is happiest with fewest restrictions. Faith-wise, Nasira serves Yahal just as her mother did, although she isn't as exclusive about it as other Benshiras, and pays respect to the gods of Lhavit as well. She doesn't feel as much of a connection to the Benshiras as she does to Lhavit, and while she is proud of her heritage, freely admits to not knowing much about it, and not being too interested in seeing Yahebah. History Unlike most Benshira, whose names can be whole genealogies, Nasira introduces herself as 'Nasira, just Nasira'. This is because despite being a full-blooded Benshira, she has never set foot in the desert or in Yahebah. Nasira was born on a ship leaving Yahebah for just about anywhere. Her mother, Safiya, fled the city in disgrace after a love affair with a Benshira man left her pregnant. The two of them found refuge in Lhavit, which is where Nasira has her earliest memories. While her mother spent the rest of her short life longing for the desert, Nasira has always considered herself a child of the stars. Safiya did her best to provide a living for her daughter, but the strain of leaving the desert and ending up in this unfamiliar place eventually took its toll on her, and she died when Nasira was 8. An elderly neighbor, Meiran, took the little girl in. Meiran had some skill in Auristics, and passed some of that on to Nasira. But Nasira was a free-spirit by nature, and though she loved Meiran, by the time she was 14, she moved out, acquiring her own small apartment at the Solar Wind. Lately, after a year of independence, she's taken an interest in some of the other skills Lhavit has to offer, wanting to further her Auristic studies and also intrigued by the many martial arts being taught in the city.
