[ooc=OOC]Hehe I'm glad. Una doesn't mean to be judgmental but she sure can sound it sometimes XD[/url]
“Yes she is a doll...um movement? Er...magic I suppose.”
His in-eloquent and stuttered speech rubbed against her skin making it tingle horribly. If she hadn't been so utterly focused on pleasing all she may very well had said something, Cy certainly would have. I've depended on Cy for my identity for so long, for him to say things that would otherwise have gone unsaid...perhaps these are things I should be saying? But despite her self doubt she held her tongue her her propensity for manners halted it on the tip of her tongue and forced it back down into the bowel of her stomach.
Una was delighted to find someone so forthcoming about magic. Having been raised in Wind Reach where even the tingle of magic could arouse hysteria, especially since the release of Ivak she had had little time to speak of such things. In Avanthal, where she had been introduced to her first type of magic, Spiritism, there was a great amount of superstition and fear surrounding each and every form. Lhavit was a pleasant exception and nearly every citizen seemed far more concerned with learning than flippant power games based on an individuals knowledge.
“She can function like any other human child, though she can’t catch up to the learning speed of one. Yes she can understand you to a certain degree...sleeping? No she does not. Her creator would be me.”
"Oh? But she CAN learn then? How can one use magic to teach something inanimate to learn? Learning is such a complex action..." She wondered at the complexity it must require to duplicate something as abstract as learning.
"Do they learn like dogs or like children?" Not having a notion that he may take offence to her comparison of Arya to a dog she continued to stare at him with both literal and metaphorical rose tinted eyes. "I mean...can she only learn simple things, that you ask her to do over and over again based on simple words...like sit? or can she learn complex social norms and processes like children if given the time? How complex can you make a doll? If they are made of magic can they use it themselves? Do they have Djed...or souls?" She whispered the last few words, unsure if it was appropriate to talk of things so blatantly, even in Lhavit.
"Well blessed! That is quite incredible...if you can create things like this why doesn't the whole city run on them? They could do nearly every job I imagine! and they could do it all day without breaks or food...right?" Her thoughts whiskered away in a blur as she thought of the many uses of such a doll to both herself and the Councillor Radiant... why instead of copying everything manually she could simply instruct the doll to do it, or have the doll sort things... The idea was becoming more attractive with every second.
Realizing how quickly she had dominated the conversation would probably have embarrased most individuals but it was a thought that simply didn't cross the Charoda's mind. Why should she be embarrased about being curious? Besides, it wasn't as if she was dominating the conversation with information about herself. On the contrary she was making the conversation all about him. However at ease she was with her choice when the proprietor had once again arrived at their table to take their order Una had no idea what she wanted.
“Hm? Oh right...I picked out the curry and for tea the...um Sunrise blend...how about you?”
"I am simple starving sir. Please bring me whatever is delicious and ripe at your discretion. Just no meat." She added swiftly unsure if the presence of a Charoda population nearby lent itself to that assumption or not. While she spoke to the grizzled man before her she was very aware of the cautious glances thrown at her from the direction of her companion. The attention was something she was all too familiar with but had experienced very little of since arriving in Lhavit.
“What's...what is it like? Outside of Lhavit I mean. Why come here to Lhavit? Was it because of the stories? The words of others?”
Oh! She nearly exclaimed aloud, He isn't curious because of my appearance but because of my history...how very refreshing and intriguing indeed. Recalling that she had only told him of her history in Wind Reach she cautiously argued within herself how much to tell him of her reason for leaving and coming.
"I actually knew almost nothing of Lhavit when I chose to come here. A sailor had arrived that I had had the pleasure of meeting upon the ocean a season previous, he was on his way to Lhavit. I invited myself along." She left it at that, the memory of full story too personal and fresh to reveal to a stranger.
"Wind Reach? Well...It's not so different and yet so very different. It's situated on the top of a volcano, very like Lhavit but one doesn't often see the sky as most of thorough fares are inside the mountain. They have the Wind Eagles and Endals as I'm sure you know. The Wind Eagles are a very proud creature, even at their most playful and curious I am sure they have thought of gobbling me up." She added, remembering her experience with the Wind Eagle fledling in her childhood.
"There are no Charoda there beyond my family so the sea is far lonelier than here." She added, "but the reef is far more voluptuous and the creatures far more exotic than I have seen here thus far. Perhaps because there are fewer boats to disturb the waters.
The mountains are quite barren, while the valleys are lush and full of game I hear. The people...well there is a reason they are known for their fiery temper. They have little patience for outsiders and in my opinion...they are a little barbaric. Their library is ill kept and a whisper of magic could arouse a riot I am very sure. They are divided into strict classes, into which they are born into and cannot escape from.
The land outside Lhavit in general...it is dangerous." She hesitated ominously, reminded of the Orca that had so very nearly taken her life last season. "You may not see many creatures here that tread too far into Lhavit but in Wind Reach and the Sea the danger comes from all around; below and above, not just before and behind. In Avanthal, the city proper is even surrounded by a giant glistening ice wall that the wild animals throw themselves against." She added, the story teller in her delighting in the attention and chance to share. However, in her zeal she had unintentionally spoken of Avanthal and was sure there would be many more questions to come.
"Have you been anywhere beyond Lhavit yourself?" She asked, eternally curious of what lay beyond the next rise.
