Closed Family?

Noera had just gotten out, she was happy and prancing around the town was nice, her cloak trailed behind her and at one point or another she held it behind her pretending to be a hero, letting her childish side take over.

[Ardan]

Midday in Lhavit, such a spectacular sight. The streets filled with a diverse population. Light shining through the buildings. A Shinya around every corner, bringing order to the Star of Kalea.

And Ardan hated it.

The noise of so many people hammering away at his ears gave him a headache. The constant sun blazing in his nocturnal eyes burned them. And those damned Shinya. Ardan hated few things more than a guard. Especially one that was actually good at their job. And Shinya were definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Walking through the city, his black robe standing out amongst the colors, he silently stalked the streets, watching wordlessly. This was one of the first rules of his profession: be ever vigilant. He carefully observed every building, looking for one that appeared to house the dumb rich, who left their treasures unguarded.

However, casing the city was not his only purpose for going out in daylight. No, he had caught wind of something far more important than any number of Mizas. A trusted informant had described to him a young woman, another Kelvic. Apparently, both her human and cat form resembled him greatly. His informant had done some digging, even through document in Syliras, and discovered that, in Ardan's rage-filled absence from his home, his parents had birthed another child. Apparently, they saw their deaths coming after.... her death, and sent their child away from the city.

If all this information was accurate, there was a very good chance that this girl was his sister. Even if she wasn't, he needed to see her, just to make sure. Besides, Kelvic make strong allies, and stronger enemies.

A ball was flung near her, which frightened her but she retrieved it and gave it back to the apologetic children, she shyly asked to join and they beamed and dragged her to the Sundial Circle to play. There was simply a good vibe, and it felt brilliant, seeing all the colours and buildings and people going about their daily business, some people occasionally looked her way and she gave them a smile in return.

After a time playing with the children, she felt that ever ominous feeling of watchful eyes, she looked over her shoulder but could see only the bustling crowd, though what did strike her as odd was the singular black cloaked figure amongst the bright and light-hearted aura the city gave off, as he turned she could see his wariness, he tried to hide his glares.

Noera was amused by his actions, but he looked lost and her better judgment was suppressed as she stood and began towards him, as she got closer she saw his features clearly and they were almost... familiar, though she didn't know why. She stood right in front of him and asked with a smile to mask the uneasiness and asked "hello. Sorry for intruding but, are you lost?"

Suddenly, as if his thoughts had been heard, Ardan noticed a young girl approaching. She couldn't have ben farther than her early teens, or second year, if Kelvic. She walked with a playfulness and innocence he had never seen before, having lived in the shadows for so long. When she reached him, she asked if he was lost. A peculiar question, but something about it brought a faint smile to his lips. Smiling was not something he did often sober, and definitely not at complete strangers. After a moment of pause, he bowed, and spoke.

"No, milady. Though I am looking for someone. May I ask youna few questions? It will only take a moment."

He led her out of the crowded street, to the side, and allowed his body to slide down the wall, coming to sit on the ground.

she smiled naturally now, he seemed almost to loosen up and it made her happy to see that he was not on edge, she knew how that felt.

As he led her out of the street, she watched his movements and saw how carefully he walked, like he had been trained to some extent. As he slid down the wall she decided to slide next to him, unintentionally copying him.

She was apprehensive, but curious as to why this man brought her into this partly secluded area for a few questions, but was friendly anyway. "so what is it you want to talk about? my knowledge is yours" she asked politely

As he watched the girl mimic his action, he suppressed a smile. Every moment he looked at her, he was surer that she was who he was looking for. This certainty, of course, also stemmed from her having his father's deep, green eyes and his mother's dark brown hair. As she asked what he wanted in a polite, friendly tone, he let his slight smile loose.

"Well, I've been looking for someone rather important to me. You.... seem to match her description. May I ask your name?

He hoped that he would not scare the young lady off. Generally, he searched for people to take their belongings or possibly kill them, not find out if they were his relative. When he noticed her pause, he quickly spoke again.

"Mine is Ardan. Ardan Ven'Ahad. Do not worry, I am not searching out of malicious intent. It is a very personal matter, one of family."

Being near this man, Ardan as he called himself, made her feel at ease contrary to what she felt upon first see in him, when he smiled she felt safe which was concerning to say the least.

when he said that she fit the description he was looking for, her thoughts clicked, the reason she though he looked familiar was because he looked like her, or she looked like him at least "My name is name is Noera Cerbelon, its a pleasure to meet you."

"If i may, who are you looking for?" Noera asked with curiosity, this question was burning in the back of her mind. She began to fidget, playing her cloak with a feeling that was almost worry but almost a desire to know what he was about to say.

[Ardan]

He smiled. "A pleasure to meet you, Noera." His smile faded when she asked who he was looking for. He hadn't expected this, but, in hindsight, it was the most obvious question. He didn't want to lie to the girl, or avoid the question and risk alienating her. He noticed her playing with her cloak, and saw the nervousness in her eyes.

He quickly realized that the hood of his cloak was still up. He was so used to having it on, he had forgotten that a black hood could come off as rather sinister, especially to younger folk. He reached up, flicking it back, revealing his entire head.

"I suppose I've asked you one question. Very well, I am looking for my sister. Long lost. Recently discovered." He nervously looked down, unsure of how to proceed.

Explain yourself, you daft vagik, came his sensible side.

"I suppose you'd like an explanation. A trusted informant recently described a young girl who looks a great deal like myself. I learned some time ago that my parents had a second child, but had sent her somewhere unknown. I searched for some time, but gave up when my leads never went anywhere.

"When my informant described the girl, I was certain that my sister had traveled to Lhavit. I've done a great deal of searching, and you are the first person to match." He finally finished, fully expecting the girl to state that she had a family and that the panther was either insane or an idiot. Or both.

Noera watched him flip his hood back, after they had been talking she hadn't really noticed it, but it complimented him all the same.

she wasn't shocked when he told her that she might be his sister, well he didn't in that many words but Noera was wishing for it all the same, she had never had a family, and everywhere she looked there would be a child playfully following their parent or something similar. But in the end she chuckled at her stupidity

"its possible" she chuckled "i was sent or born in Mura, and i didn't know my parents....i lived with a konti woman who was very nice, but she creeped me out some times" she explained, she looked at him for a moment "although there are a lot of people in Lhavit. How can you be sure that i am your sister?" she asked

He didn't know whether to be happy or sad when she Told her story. Never having known her family must have been difficult. For a moment, he worried how she would feel if she was his sister and he had to tell her than their real family was dead. He quickly overcame the fear, however, and spoke again.

"Well, you look like me, and my parents," he answered. "Mother's long, brown hair and green eyes. You're practically a perfect copy of my mother, actually. Tell me, are you Kelvic? My grandfather, mother, and myself are all panthers."

He growled lightly, testing for a reaction. Most felines and feline Kelvics would at least purr lightly in response. The Star of Kalea seemed to be teeming with Kelvics, from what the thief had seen. A young cat he had come across, Brandon, and a few others.
