* Appearance Rowan is fairly short for a Kelvic, not quite reaching five and a half feet in height, but she often appears shorter as she rarely stands up straight. Weighing only about 120lbs, there’s little to her, which only enhances how small she seems. Copper-red waves fall freely across her shoulders, hanging past them by only a few inches, a nice contrast to the pale peach of her skin. Her eyes were a simple brown, indistinguishable from a normal human’s, but her canine’s marked her for what she was, slightly longer and much sharper than any true humans. The only other cross between her human and Kelvic forms is an enhanced sense of hearing, better than a human’s but not as accurate as a fox’s.
Rowan has the mark of a Ravok slave on the back of her left hand, the half-black sun.
As a fox, Rowan is still fairly small. From nose to rump, she’s about twenty-five inches long, her tail another seventeen inches. Her height is sixteen inches at the shoulder, her head and ears adding another eight and a half inches. She has the typical red coloring: auburn along her face, back, sides and tail, black streaked through her tail and covering her legs and ears, silver along her chest and stomach and streaked through the top of her legs. Her fur is fairly short from living in the temperate climate of Ravok, but it’s still thick and silky to the touch.
* Personality Rowan is very young, even if she appears to be a young adult, which causes her to be a lot more ignorant of the world and its ways than some would guess looking at her. She doesn’t know how to interact with people outside of the Center, where all she could do was listen and obey, or be punished. She learned quickly, only struggling once before blindly following whatever any of the white coats told her to do. It was the first lesson she really learned about life, obey those above you and you won’t feel pain at their hand, and that is one of the biggest ideas that dictates how she acts.
Rowan rarely lifts her eyes from the ground, whether she’s alone or in a crowd, both out of a reluctance to actually look anyone in the face and the, quite often futile, hope that she will remain unnoticed by anyone who may be higher on the social food chain than her. Her curiosity, however, keeps her ears open for much she would otherwise miss because of her downcast gaze.
As a fox, Rowan is very submissive in the way she acts. Her head is very rarely above the rest of her body, and her tail never is, but her ears are always perked and twitching, taking in every sound the find. Only when she is truly afraid do her ears press themselves back against her skull, and she all but presses herself to the ground to attempt to hide from whatever is scaring her. Otherwise, there isn’t much difference to how she acts between her two forms. |
