Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.
If you don’t like a good gamble, don’t knock on the door of Ionu’s Wager. That’s the only way you’ll get in, by the way. The door is never open, nor is there a sunny welcoming sign hanging on the wall. Ionu’s Wager is one of the many prestigious, high-stakes gambling establishments in Alvadas. Open only to a select few, Ionu’s Wager is a dangerous place where one often bets with more than just money.
If you are determined enough to knock on the door of the mysterious enterprise, a throaty voice will present you with a riddle. Answer correctly and the door will open, revealing a darkly lit hall. A bar stretches along the side of the leftmost wall and compact, round tables are scattered across the floor. Decks of cards and stacks of coins lie carelessly atop the tables. Around the table sit people of all ages, genders, and races. With all their differences, they have one thing in common – they have a love for high stakes. Bets are made and raised on the merits of wit and the merest facial tics. Mizas are thrown away with a carelessness that can only be considered reckless. Once one is out of gold, one might begin to bet with one’s life.
NPC :
Thorren Belvare Thorren appears to be in his mid-twenties. Blond hair hangs just above his shoulders and two piercings glitter in his eyebrow. Soft-spoken and elegant, he does not immediately convey an impression of a hardened gambler. Thorren is the manager of Ionu’s Wager – a high-stakes gambling establishment in Alvadas – and one of the most notorious tricksters around.
Languages Fluent: Common Passable: Nari, Pavi, Isur
History : Thorren has been an admirer of Ionu since his early childhood. Thorren was brought to an orphanage a few days after his birth. He was raised in the orphanage until the age of sixteen, never knowing his parents. Prone to pulling pranks on his peers, he was both feared and admired. Even as a child, he often snuck into small gambling houses, trying his hand among the best. When he was sixteen, he won a large amount of money from an elderly patron of one of the establishments. After waiting a few years, Thorren turned a run-down building into his own gambler’s paradise. He now runs Ionu’s Wager with an iron hand and a soft tongue – turning away talentless wannabes and encouraging skilled risk-takers.
