Scar let his eyes catch hers as he spoke, she listened quietly as he explained what he wanted from her. She was excited to get the debt repaid to him as quickly as possible, it left her feeling more comfortable with him though it was the option of being his assistant that gave her pause. She didn’t know what kind of skills that required but she was sure she probably didn’t have them, toting on someone wasn’t exactly her bouquet of flowers but if she needed to stay in Ravok longer than planned then she’d need a job. She knew it wasn’t an offer yet but rather then immediately tucking it away she filed it away for later use so that she knew if she should try to please him in a more permanent way or not.
She kept her face as neutral as she could with the fact that she was feeling better after the Heldrog then she had in days. Every day had been a long one searching the city and before that she had been traveling, this was the first time she didn’t feel as if she was sore from her head to her toes in a while. It wasn’t until Venser mentioned the time he expected them to be at the shop did she wrinkle her nose and frown at him. Her teeth clamped on her tongue behind her lips so that she didn’t say what was on her mind, she was not a morning person at all and it was already dark outside so she doubted sleep would be long enough.
“Okay.” She nodded slowly and ran a hand through her hair, her face screwing up when she accidently hit the sensitive point of her scalp but she glanced towards the door. “That’s early I should probably go get some sleep then.” With a pause the red head watched him quietly, she had been searching for her sister and she instead found this man who lived down the hall from her and was possibly offering her a permanent place in the city if he liked her enough. It had been a long day for Scar so she added with another nod “I agree.”
Her lips pulled into a grin then and moved for the door, her hand on the handle while she looked back at him with a casual shrug as she spoke “I’d take your offer on staying as long as I want …” Golden eyes glittered with amusement as she finally revealed the secret she had kept when she realized they were in Tarsin’s. She didn’t regret keeping the secret, if she had originally just said she’d go to her room she wouldn’t feel as good as she did right now and she wouldn’t have been able to get to know the handsome stranger more. “…but I figure you’d like to sleep in your bed and I have a room right down the hall. I’ll be back in the morning. Goodnight Venser.” She chuckled lightly and then turned the handle of his door to exit and go back to her own room for the rest of the night.
