Scarlet’s room at Tarsin’s Boarding House was nothing spectacular, she had a small bed and a small storage chest and that was it. She didn’t need much else and she couldn’t afford much else in a long term fashion if she planned on traveling after Ravok should she not find a possible match for her sister. The bed smelt slightly, not that it wasn’t kept up to par for what a passing by stranger would need but that didn’t stop it from smelling like its previous inhabitants. Generally people who couldn’t afford more than a poor room didn’t bathe often which was really a shame when it came to a lady staying in a room. Over all the Inn was nice, smells happened and it was just something that you had to deal with or get out and considering it was in a favorable location for the city she wasn’t about to get out.
The red head pulled on one leather boot at a time and wiggled her toes in them to settle the shoes comfortably before she began lacing them up tight around her calves. She let her hair hang loose like most days, the curls only slightly misbehaving today as they clung to her dry parted lips while she bent at the waist to deal with her shoes. Licking her lips she spat out a huff of air trying to dislodge the strands until she finally gave up and pulled them away with rough fingertips in a flick of annoyance. In a fluid motion Scar stood up and looked around the room quickly to make sure everything was put away in the storage chest. With her journal and her scarce personal belongings tucked away the girl exited the room and locked it up behind herself.
She had no idea where to start looking since she only arrived in the city the day before but maybe someone in the lobby to direct her somewhere or give her a map or something. Scar’s room was only on the first floor so she simply had to travel the hallway until she found herself at the hub of the building where people were checking in, out or just plain passing through. There were several people here, mostly men, and the woman kept herself to the side of the room like a fly on the wall trying to scout out for the perfect one to talk that might be the most likely to help her. Men were too unpredictable; they would either hit on her or just think she was some brainless lass who they didn’t need to pay attention to or help. A woman was ideal; a woman was more likely to help her if she picked the right one.
Her golden eyes landed on each person in turn until she spotted a dash of red brindled hair, perhaps it was the red hair that started her forward or the fact that the girl was one of the few that didn’t make Scar want to punch them on sight. Either way she pushed away from her wall that she had clung to and made her way over with sure steps before she cleared her throat in a way to get attention “Excuse me … Would I be able to trouble you a moment?” Yes, polite words Scar … polite is good. She flashed the taller girl a smile that wasn’t exactly innocent but it was definitely on the friendlier end of the scale. If the woman didn’t scoff and turn away to ignore her Scar would add on with an attempted hint of humility “I just was wondering if you’d be able to tell me if there were any places people typically … hung out … here in Ravok?” she didn’t hide the fact she was new to the city hoping it might urge the other girl to answer.
