Appearance
Rhydian stands at an average height, neither short nor tall. She carries herself with sure and confident steps, head high, and with shrewd blue eyes framed by severe, stern features. The wilds have sculpted her body for survival with hard, lean muscles and a powerful female figure. Long black hair with some premature gray hangs long past angular shoulders, most often pulled over one shoulder with a thin braid hanging down the other. Her clothing is simple and restricted to discreet colors. Rhydian's skin is smooth and tough from sun and wind, with strong callouses on her hands and feet.

Character History
Rhydian was born into slavery and owned by a well off family in Sunberth, a byproduct of a young slave girl and her lusting master. She spent the first three years of her life as such until her mother escaped and fled with her toward Syliras. They made it nearly two weeks on the road before they were caught, and as punishment Rhydian was left out on the Kabrin Road to die while her mother was taken back to Sunberth. Luckily a few days later she was found by a small trade caravan--half starved and nearly dehydrated to death--bound for Syliras. To the best of their abilities they nursed her back to health along the journey, and when they arrived deposited her into the care of the orphanage.
Skills
Lores
Wilderness Survival: Building a Fire
Morphing: Separating Mental Djed from Physical
Gnosis
Caiyha: 1 Mark of Phylonura - Awaiting approval.
Biome(s): Temperate Forest
The singularly marked individual is granted the language of Nura and begins to learn to communicate with plants and animals of all sorts. Nura can even cause the witch to actively associate with insects which are vital forms of life in Caiyha's domain. The witch is granted one biome to look after, and is given often multiple years to hone her skills and branch out to invest time and energy in the space she or he protects. The more skills a witch learns and perfects, the more likely she will feel the urge to move and and resettle, especially when her current biome has been in balance for a significantly long period of time. Many witches at this stage can also 'lose' their marks if Caiyha finds them lacking in motivation or determination when it comes to being her guardians of the world.

Companions
Name: Braun
Breed: Mountain Pony
Sex: Gelding
Age: 5 year old
Height: 13.5 hh
Color: Palamino
History: Rhydian never planned on having a horse, but it seemed she never had a choice when it came to this little pony. She received him from some persistent farmers who were bent on selling him no matter what. When she could take no more of their hassling, the Witch finally relented and took him home. Much to her surprise, Braun--as she renamed him, because Biter sounded unpleasant--turned out to be a lovely companion and enormous help each time she needed to make a trip back to Syliras or the Mithryn Outpost for supplies. He carries more than she ever could, and goes about the work with what could only be considered gusto. Since buying him at the age of three Rhydian has learned to rely on the little pony and loves him as family.

Housing
Approxiately a half day's ride to the northwest of Sunset Falls is the quiet cave of the Phylonurist Rhydian. Set deep into the trees at the base of one of many mountains in the Cobalt range amongst clustered hills and thick forest, this small cave is secluded and almost completely hidden from those who don't actually know where it is. Over the years plants have been coaxed to grow over the stone mouth of the cave, creating a sort of curtain that shields most of it from the view of an untrained eye. The only real indication someone may have as to its whereabouts is the narrow, well-worn trail flanked on one side by a rocky stream that flows down from the mountains and leads all the way to Avitar River. Once there it's simple to follow the river to the Kabrin Road on to Stormhold Castle to the west or the Mithryn Outpost further to the south.
Once inside the cave takes on a surprisingly comfortable atmosphere, and it becomes obvious that it's been inhabited for years. Spongy moss grows on most of the floor, walls, and ceilings. Rooms of a sort have been established through the arrangement of furniture and belongings. A bedroll and blankets are laid out in one corner with a chest beside them. A small firepit sits under a crack in the ceiling where smoke can escape. Beside that is a folding stool where the Witch can cook comfortably. Torches have been artfully wedged into gaps in the wall allowing for firelight all around at night or when needed. In the back of the cave is a second entrance, far smaller and only accessible by crawling on one's belly.
While the main entrance to the cave is rather low itself, the interior is spacious enough for even an Akalak to stand without hitting his head. Rhydian calls her home rather uncreatively The Den. For most of the day the cave stays abandoned, but at night someone may see the faint glow of fire from inside, or a thin pillar of smoke rising from the hill above at dusk.
