Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Soft, red lips curled into a pleased smile, the tears of moments past simply a ghost in the form of dust streaks on her face. The small statues that littered this place were beautiful, though she had no idea to whome the belonged. She suspected they were Gods or Goddesses though she knew nothing of that, only that they supposedly existed, and that races worshiped different ones.

She stopped in front of one, admiring the craftmanship. There was not a jagged edge to be seen on it, it was almost as if it had been molded from clay rather than carved from stone. Still smiling she continued walking, though the air felt slightly cooler, less dense, as if evening was approaching. Probably best not to be caught in hidden gardens after dark.

She turned back do Drefan who was following at a slower pace. "I rather like you, friend," she said, her voice drifting softly. It seemed callous to speak loudly in such a tranquil place. She approached him slowly and wrapped her hands around his waist, in an attempt to embrace him.
"Thank you for helping me," she whispered close to his ear.

Drefan admired the craftsmanship of the statues, but he cared little for the gods. His philosophy was, if he left them alone, perhaps they would leave him alone in return. A man's strength depended on himself, and the gods shouldnt determine his destiny. Still, the carvings and masonry were beautiful to behold.

He had been in the middle of admiring a particularly beautiful statue when, to his immense surprise, Briza wrapped her arms around him. Drefan felt his face flush red slightly, and he wrapped his arms around her in turn, pulling her close in an embrace. Her words tickled slightly against his ear, and he shivered ever so slightly. His ears were a weak point.

"It was my pleasure, Briza." He whispered in return, giving her a gentle squeeze. Her cheek against his was soft, and for a minute he allowed himself to close his eyes. The gentleness of her arms, and the softness of her skin recalled memories of his home, of gentle family, of loving gazes... He suddenly found himself blinking, fighting back tears silently as he pulled her ever so slightly tighter against him. Her voice was soothing to his soul.

"Anytime you need me, I'll be here." He said quietly, reluctant to let her go.

The air was brisk, and seemed to wrap tendrils around her pale appendages. Her chest rose and fell almost in time with the pulse of the gusts. It felt nice. Reminding her somewhat of the chill that she enjoyed much of the time in her home region. Old home she corrected herself.
She dragged herself from such thoughts and turned back to the man that had returned her embrace, and if anything, had welcomed it. She raised an arm from his waist and placed it around his neck, her hand gently kneading the back of his hair.
"It's been a while since someone was willing to return my affections," she whispered against his ear, her hair trailing against the side of his face.

She unwrapped herself slightly from him and grinned at him, his eyes almost seemed to glimmer with moisture. "No crying on me, will ya," she stated, giving him a playful swat on his chest. "I am here always, also," she added in reply to his statement.

Drefan looked at the woman, and nodded, steeling himself against the memories that threatened to overwhelm him. "Not a tear." he nodded. He forced a smile for her, before touching her hair gently.

"It's been too long since I've seen someone with this color hair." He gave her a wry smirk, and a chuckle. "Far too long..." His voice trailed off slightly as he heard her words about returning her affections. His eyes closed slightly.

"I hear its a lonely trip, the way we've both come." He said softly. "The feeling of another's arms can be sweet anodyne for a weary traveller."

A small smile alighted on her crimson lips. Here was a person that would be her friend, perhaps forever. In a world where things changed in a heartbeat, it was nice to believe that something could be stable amongst it all. Her life had been mostly stable, until it hadn't been, and that shock to the system had taught her that everything changed, sometimes very suddenly.

"So I recall you mentioning a long bow," she muttered, a slight glint in her eye. It's origins unsure, perhaps she was excited or perhaps she was feel malicious. Either way she knew the sun would be setting probably within the next two chimes of the bell. She'd didn't want to be in plain sight in the darkness of the night, although the thought made her laugh internally. How ironic.

She turned a stoic gaze onto the man she believed she could call friend. Perhaps she was too trusting, but for now she would trust her gut, even if it did somersaults as she gazed at his chiselled features, his strong jaw, muscled arms and a delicious mouth.
"I can't pay you in coin, but I have some skill with that pretty weapon that I could pass on," she added, her tongue sliding out of her mouth as it gently caressed her lips, moistening them so they shone softly in the paling light.
