x x Chromatic . Strings Chromatic Strings is a small, specialized shop located in the Noble District, rather than the Merchant's Ring. It is a music shop, selling instruments and repairing them, but only focuses on one specific area... stringed instruments. Flutes, drums, trumpets and the like are not offered here, nor will they be fixed if brought to the store. The owner's hearts are with the strings, and so are their services. Still, despite this, they have an incredibly range of stringed instruments, from all over Mizahar... including the rather recent Gea'tar. The shop is rather plain in appearance on the outside, though takes up two floors rather than the usual one. The first floor is for the customers, where most instruments are on display, and money is exchanged. The walls are lined with specially designed racks for each instrument, where they can hang comfortably without any damage or wear. However, due to space constraint, not all instruments are able to be stored here, so only the most common or the most prized are on display. The rest reside in the upper floor, which doubles as storage and as a work space. Here customers are not allowed, but the walls are lined with instruments, and the materials to make them. In the center is one table covered messily with tools, where either of the two owners can come to work on a creation. They keep a wide variety of products available at every time, as one never knows what a customer wants. Still, if something specific is not in stock, they will be happy to custom make it for someone, for no extra cost. Both owners are always willing to help, showing off their instruments and the various embellishments they put on them. Prices

Name: Sherie Patch Race: Human DOB: Summer 2nd, 492 AV POB: Ravok Title: Co-Owner of Chromatic Strings Skills: Harp - 62, Mandolin - 18, Instrument Making - 51, Rhetoric - 10 Other Information: Sherie was the daughter of two high ranking Black Sun members, and though her parents always tried to nudge her to follow their path, she quickly discovered music and refused to go any other way. Luckily, her parents were rather lenient, and allowed their daughter to go her own way. She lived a pampered and sheltered life, growing up devoted to Rhysol and Ravok. Her parents were very, very careful not to introduce her to Rhaus, in case the girl's devotions drifted away, and they were successful at that, at least. In her mid teens, she met Edward Patch, who, despite their age difference, quickly became a friend... if a slightly odd one. She didn't mind him almost acting like a body guard (though he desperately tried to pretend that he wasn't), and almost took a liking to it. Her love grew for him far earlier than his for her, but she kept it hidden and silent until the time he realized, often reminding herself how beautifully romantic it was. When she was old enough, and her father would allow, she pushed to own her own store, and spread music to others. Since she only knew string instruments she focused on that, making and crafting them for sale... and bringing Edward along with her. She taught him the basics of crafting, still holding that hope for love all the while, though it took another year after the creation of the business for Edward to realize what was going on, and eventually they got married. Edward Patch
Name: Edward Patch Race: Human DOB: Fall 88th, 487 AV POB: Ravok Title: Co-Owner of Chromatic Strings and Black Sun Agent Gnosis: Chaon - 1 Skills: Disguise - 33, Cryptography - 48, Instrument Making - 45, Composition - 15, Leadership - 29, Negotiation - 37 Other Information: Edward's first goal in life was never to work in an instrument store. In fact, he'd never been interested in music before. Born to a middle-class Ravokian family, he saw only one way to go to prove his devotion to the city: the Black Sun. So he strove for that goal, learning skills he knew would be helpful for the organization. And soon he got to that point, at the age of twenty, and was marked by Rhysol. They quickly discovered a major problem: he was useless in a crisis. Still, he insisted to his superiors that he wanted to do something other than sit in an office and decode messages. So he was given an odd, to the side job... keep an eye on Sherie Mofin. Her father, an influential Black Sun member himself, had gathered a few enemies in the Rising Dawn, those he was having a hard track of. That small collection also knew how to get to him... through his daughter. So, Edward was set as a 'watch' on Sherie, to become a friend and colleague and hide his true intent. Things went well and the pair grew rather close. Eventually, Sherie, who'd been heavily into music, decided she wanted to make a living selling instruments. So Chromatic Strings was created, the woman dragging Edward right along into it. That was what brought the man into music, and truly introduced him into it... and he discovered that he didn't mind making things, and even began dabbling into composing... though he never got around to learning how to play something. Amusingly, Edward's services were never needed, and the Black Sun left him there as an undercover agent. Six years after his initiation he and Sherie got married, with the acceptance of her father, of course... and settled down to truly run the business.
