Character Concept
Syrrta, when alone, acts like the typical Akvatari. Depressed. Syrrta almost always brings company, however. This company comes in the form of her two year old baby, Thiwe. While with her child, Syrrta tries to seem happy, but anyone can see past her lies just by looking into her eyes; Syrrta is a terrible actress. She likes to write and tell stories, but above all, she loves her baby, Thiwe.
Character History Pre-Creation
Syrrta was named for the stars in the sky that she always loved as an infant. It seemed she had grown disconnected from the diamonds in the sky until she arrived in Lhavit. Syrrta was born to a pair of Akvatari on the island of Akvatar, in the city of Abura. Her father was a painter, her mother a sketch artist. Her father left soon after Syrrta was born, leaving her mother as the primary caregiver.
When Syrrta turned 14, she struck out on her own. She didn't leave the island of Akvatar, but she found a house away from her mother's and a job as a sketch artist, taking after her mother. Syrrta found a lover the day she turned twenty, and a child was conceived out of their union soon enough. Soon, though, ill fate fell upon her lover, and she was left with a Lacun mark upon her sternum. Syrrta decided that her child would be named Thiwe, for her white tail and wings.
Thiwe and Syrrta moved away from Abura, Syrrta having bad memories associated with the city. She moved to Lhavit, the diamond of Kalea. There, she found a home and an affinity for storytelling. Looking up at the night sky at Iraltu's Observatory, she again realized she loved the jewels in the night sky that she was named for. While her skills in astronomy weren't the highest, the observatory became her favorite place.
Syrrta had a thirst for learning. While she still apreciated the arts a great deal, she preferred to stick to her own form of art, storytelling, unlike many of the Akvatari. What Syrrta wanted to learn most of all was magic. Many were wary of it, but Lhavit's liberal views on magic did nothing to hinder her, instead they encouraged exploring her curiosity.
