x x The Fishermen's . Anchorage The Fishermen's Anchorage isn't truly one specific location, but rather an area. Though it is centered around one large area that could be considered a giant flat dock, it includes some of the houses and buildings around it, at least those in the nearby vicinity. It could, if one stretched their views of the place, involve all areas where fishing boats are docked, or fishermen live, as most of those are nearby anyways. In truth, the Fishermen's Anchorage includes almost all things related to fishing in Ravok. Though not everything is here, especially most of the fish stalls, many other parts are. It's all focused around one large area, that, despite it's size, can always be considered crowded. If not with people, than with things. On three sides it faces Lake Ravok, and most of the time there are numerous fishing boats tied up along the side. Some reside there permanently, others are simply there temporarily. The only time when there are never any boats is in the morning, when all are out in the lake gathering up the day's catch. Even without the boats... there is always business running here. The wooden slats of the dock are usually piled with rope, nets, and crates, among other things. Ravok's community of fishermen, probably the most trustworthy and honest of the entire city, all know each other well enough to not rob each other of their goods. If an outsider attempted to come along and snag something of value... they'd face the fury of anyone who was around, citizen or not. They'd also have a hard time finding something of value, as that is severely lacking as well. A fishing net and a coil of rope are cheap enough, and certainly not worth the risk of stealing. Most fishermen dock here to unload their boats, selling their catches right off to vendors and other buyers. It's probably the cheapest place to buy a fish, though it would be hard to get one that was not in bulk. Still, a few vendors stick around, peddling their 'fish on a stick' to anyone who comes by. Along with food sellers there are those who provide supplies, setting up small stalls along the edges of the large pier. Most of those sell nets, ropes, and other important fishing implements, including individual fishing rods. Small scale or big scale fishing... the anchorage provides to all.
