Outside the city Kaik sat on a bench in the Trail of Waterfalls alongside him was the newest addition to his "family" as well as Arya. Earlier that day he had spotted a stall selling an assortment of entertainment gear, a child-sized manikin caught his attention. Kaik was definitely skeptical of how much it cost but he still bought in the end. The doll was devoid of any features only wearing cloth clothing and resembled a child. After a long thought he decided on the name Oliver, intending for the doll to be a boy. He began work on the doll, trying to carve features for the boy with his brand new carving kit.
The reason for Kaik working on the doll outside the city was simple enough, he didn't want to be disturbed. While his home was a good place to work it wasn't the best place to enjoy the summer air. The Trail of Waterfalls proved to be the best location given how safe it was and he had a better chance to avoid people there than in the city. The only problem he didn't factor in was his appearance. He wore his usual attire, studded leather armor and gauntlets along with hood and a angle-knife by his side. Anyone walking by would question his innocence, at the very least he had his hood down, though that didn't help to cover up the marks around his neck. The rumors about about him also didn't help his image, all of them referring to the deaths of Ellen and his parents.
The sun was still high in the sky as Kaik finished making the final addition to Oliver. Despite having created two wooden doll, he just could not create the image he was looking for. There was no way he was going to be able to give Oliver ears due as that would ruin the shape of the head if he carved too far into it, so he had to settle for making small holes on both sides of his head. A nose was just barely manageable since he made it quite small. The eyes sockets proved to be simple enough as did the mouth which was a simple straight line. Oliver was then given blue eyes and medium long black hair. The final step was to animate him, but given how much time he had already used up Kaik just wanted to see what the trail had to offer.
Standing up he asked Arya to carry Oliver, "Thanks Arya it's a good thing I brought you." Arya felt happy to fulfill her master's order as her soon to be brother, not that she had any sense of what family is, was placed on her back. It was an amusing sight watching the young girl give a boy a piggyback ride. Kaik finished with his chuckling walked down the trail with Arya by his side.
