AppearanceRace: Mixed Blood (Human/Eypharian)
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Birthday: 17th of Spring, 492 AV
Birthplace: Syliras
Appearance: Cub, thanks to his Eypharian blood, stands at a lofty height of 6'5". However, in stark contrast to his height, he is quite lean, perhaps too much so. However, whatever he lacks in muscle, he more than makes up for in grace. He is considered handsome amongst any race, but his true beauty comes not from his eyes or his face, but from his amiable demeanor. A smile from Cub Clementine is enough to warm all but the coldest of hearts. This aura of warmth and acceptance earns him many allies wherever he goes.
Character ConceptCub is a devout disciple of Priskil, and a lifelong member of her cult, the Order of Radiance. His parents, having already been members of the Society for many years, raised Cub to follow Priskil's code of ethics. The result was a very kind, polite, and open minded young man, who wanted only to serve his goddess by bringing light to the darkest corners of Mizahar. Cub's relationship with his Eypharian father, Khalos, was quite strong, and he sees him as his greatest role model. Most notably, he wishes to emulate his father's fighting style of dual wielding scimitars, and follow in his footsteps as a Torch for the Order. To this end, he now travels the continent as a kind heart, helping and volunteering wherever he can and bringing hope to the hopeless, both through his faith and his own personal intervention. He will continue to do so until he becomes strong enough to battle the darkness of Mizahar head on as a fully fledged Torch. Currently, Cub resides in Sunberth, Mizahar's greatest source of unsavory characters and poverty. Well aware of the danger around him, Cub is hoping to keep a low profile for the time being, volunteering at the many orphanages and slums around the city. In spite of his surroundings, Cub keeps up a constant warm smile, and an unwavering aura of good intentions. This sets him out wildly against the mostly dour expressions of Sunberth's citizenry.
Character HistoryCub is the son of Khalos re Ahnatep and Salli Clementine. Khalos had never felt any love for his own people, believing them to be vain and sickening. After many years of harboring these negative feelings for his fellow Eypharians, Khalos met Salli, a youthful travelling missionary, or Lightbringer, for the Order of Radiance. Salli told the young Khalos of Priskil, and her divine light that brings hope to those who need it the most. She described how Priskil was kind and loving, and accepting of all people and creeds. She described the dark forces that Priskil's followers fought in her name, and how she loved all of her followers like family. Khalos was immediately intrigued, and upon spending more time with Salli, he found that he was in love with more than just her teachings. They soon decided that they simply could not live without each other, and when it came time for Salli to leave, Khalos came with her. Having abandoned Eyktol, Khalos and Salli could fully devote their lives to each other and to Priskil. After Khalos officially joined the Order of Radiance, he immediately became what is known as a Torch, a warrior who fights the forces of darkness in the name of Priskil's light. He and Salli spent many years travelling Mizahar, and bringing happiness and hope to the unhappy and the hopeless. Salli used her words; Khalos used his blades. After many years, and many adventures, the duo decided that it had come time to settle down and bring hope to the world in a different way. Travelling to Mizahar's safest city, Syliras, Khalos and Salli sired a son. They named him Cub. And they loved him like no child has ever been loved before.
Cub was a follower of Priskil from birth, his parents immediately instilling her values into him. They made him aware that he was not required to be a member of the Order, or even to worship Priskil if he didn't want to, but he would always be expected to be kind to others. Cub, however, had no intentions of worshiping anyone besides Priskil. In fact, he knew from his first memory that he would do whatever he had to do to join the Order of Radiance like his parents. As such, he spent many of his early years helping his parents volunteer around the city, helping the poor and feeding the needy. He found he had a great love for spreading joy to others, and doing the right thing. But as his father would show him, there was more than one way to do the right thing. After reaching the age of fifteen, Cub began study in the art of combat. Training in his father's graceful Eypharian fighting style, Cub acquired a competent understanding of the scimitar, and its various uses in battle. Khalos swore that, once Cub was older, he would continue his training to include the art of dual wielding. Unfortunately, this would not come to pass.
When Cub was seventeen, Khalos was struck with a debilitating illness that ended up taking his life. He was mourned greatly amongst the other members of the Order of Radiance, particularly his fellow Torches. His service was held at the Zagaria Watchtower, the headquarters of the Order, with Priskil herself in attendance. Though his father was gone, Cub did not let himself lose hope. His father was a great man who had fought Mizahar's darkness with no fear. He had fought for not only himself, but for the woman he loved, the goddess he served, and the world he lived in. Cub's love and respect for his father had never burned so brightly. And it was there, surrounded by the people who had the same love for his father that he did, that he decided to follow in his father's footsteps as a Torch. However, Cub was well aware that he was far too inexperienced to take on the world. It is for this reason that he has resigned himself to being a Lightbringer until his training is complete.
After many years of travelling the world, spreading good will towards all, Cub has decided to tackle the source of Mizahar's villainy: Sunberth. Cub does not plan to take on Sunberth's dark side head on. For the time being, he is only there to try to improve the lives of those poor people who have fallen victim to the city, both through volunteering and personal assistance. And he will do it with open arms, and a warm smile for all who need it.
