This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

Day 60, Summer, 514 AV
Locals had rumoured that the Blacksugar Distillery was haunted, that it was cursed with something. For it was said that murders and disappearances had happened within its walls. Most locals did not come to the Distillery for fear that the rumours were true and the resident ghosts that lived within its walls, only ever saw one living human walk within the building itself. It was a place that Shalita had taken up residence and she did not mind one bit that only one living being and two ghosts walked within the building. Although it did get rather boring, for there was no one to scare, to breathe life to the dead rumours. Maathias was a living being, yes, but he was also old and was used to the ghosts that lived there, for he is the one that looks after the Distillery, so scaring him never really gave much satisfaction.

Tonight, was a night that Shalita had decided not to roam the streets of Kenash as there were so many reminders that keep pushing her back into the dark world of sadness. That kept reminding her of why she was dead and what she had lost as a consequence. It was a night, that Shalita had decided to spend time with her own kind, with other ghosts. The two other resident ghosts were normally fighting over Maathias, it was something that she did not fully understand completely. However, Maathias was no where to be seen, so the two were bickering between themselves, like children. Oddly enough, Shalita was an older ghost, she had been dead longer than the other two by about a year, but she still grieved over the loss of her human life. Something that she was unable to let go, well more like un-willing to let go. So far, she had tried to chased down information about the race that killed her, met a boy that only reminded her that she was a ghost and not a living being anymore and stumbled upon a childhood friend, who she had expected to stay in Zeltiva. Indeed, while she had the company of two other ghosts, it just wasn’t the same as a living, breathing human being.

A sigh settled upon the ghost’s lips as she moved to sit up, for she had been lying upon one of the barrels, her gaze seeking out where the other two ghosts were. Isai was bickering with Mia, again and Shalita merely shook her head. She didn’t know how to break the two up for they were more powerful than she was, so she simply tolerated it all. Shalita hadn’t actually been bothered to listen to their words, but she did wonder if they had known each before their death, for they seem to know each other fairly well. Whether that was because they spent a lot of their time in the Distillery or whether it was because of something else, she just couldn’t work out. Silently, she slowly drifted off of the top of the keg that she had been sitting on, until her feet touched the wooden floor underneath her bare feet and she brushed back her black hair. She wanted something interesting to happen, something that would keep her mind off of the memories that plagued her, however, she felt that perhaps that would only happen if she left the Distillery itself, something that she did not want to have to do.

OOCSorry if this is a little short and choppy, I have been a little distracted while typing it. Hopefully as the thread progresses, things should smooth out a lot.
