The archway is a narrow, yet sturdy stone bridge that leads one into the Black Marsh, a low elevation section of land that collects the tempered rainfall the Black Rock receives on a regular basis. Unless crossing on boat or swimming, the Archway is the only way to get into the Black Marsh by foot. Though quite easily defined as the territory of the Dhani, there is certainly no beings preventing one from crossing into the Black Marsh. It is, however, ill advised to travel there if one is new to the island, and the Cicerone will try to deter travelers anyway they can from going into the marsh because of the many places one can get sucked into the murky waters and never resurface, not to mention the dangerous creatures lurking within its depths.
Many ghosts enjoy the Black Marsh, however, and it isn't uncommon to find them upon the Archway staring into the water or just on one side of the bridge or the other.c
