Potential Caravan

So after cruising around the various lores and whatnot, I came up with this idea that I'm kicking around, possibly contemplating writing an article for, and I just wanted to see what everyone else thought about it.

Basically, it's a travelling merchant caravan/fair.

To get into a bit more detail, it would include merchants from various races(and representatives for those races who are not welcomed in the majority of cities *cough*Zith*cough*), guards(obviously; traveling through Mizahar is dangerous), some entertainers tagging along for the protection and the chance to explore the world, and maybe a few others who are there for their own reasons.

I'm thinking that only the Storytellers would be able to determine the condition the caravan arrives in their city in: Did they manage to keep all of their goods, did they lose some to various causes, were they attacked while on their journey, etc. Some of the more general NPCs could be self-modded(such as buying mundane items) but those transactions/interactions involving magical/rare items must be modded by a ST. The caravans would also help to carry news between cities, I think.

Obviously this needs to be fleshed out quite a bit more, but I wanted to get this out here to see what the general reaction was to it before I start really working on it. Let me know what you think!

This isn't something for World Development, which all projects need to be ran by the HD first and foremost. This is something a PC could set up IC complete with NPCs etc. It sounds like its own traveling domain and I'm not sure there's enough interest to merit worrying about it. But if one wanted to rp that they were in a caravan and travel around doing threads within that caravan, a DS could set that up or better yet an RS within a specific region.
