Sssalissyndusss Dhani (Saltwater Iyvess), Male 77th of Winter, 401AV - age 112 1st Mark of Oceanus Snake-Tongue Fluent Nader-Canoch Basic Char Poor Beaked Sea Snake General Description: Small but very deadly snake. Length: 1 - 1.5m Weight: Up to 2kg Coloring: Generally shades of light gray with blue-gray bands. Fangs: 4mm and with the ability to gape widely to accommodate prey. Disposition: Notoriously aggressive, responsible for 90% of deaths from sea snake bites. Diet: Surrounding fish, primarily shrimp and catfish. Defenses: Usually bites any intruders, hence the high death rate. Venom: A lethal venom that is about twice as potent as the most venomous terrestrial snakes. Knowledge & Training Possessions Housing & Family   Pre-Initiation Even as a youth, Syndus found himself going down a different path than his clutchmates. All Iyvess had to go through various methods of training to prepare them for the time when they would join a den and become hunters, but Syndus did not quite take to the training. Maybe he was being stubborn, maybe he really did lack the talent to use a weapon properly. Whatever the case, it was at this time that he started showing an interest in Reimancy to compensate for his pathetic ability when it came to conventional hunting. Others tried to persuade him out of it, that Reimancy was not something that was learnt easily nor to be taken lightly, but Syndus was determined. For better or worse.   Post-Initiation Syndus did not regret his decision, but the initiation left him changed. Though it wasn't traumatic, it was a hard lesson in pain that this particular Iyvess learned early. He used what time he had left to study hard and practice routinely, slowly get used to his new power and learning how to control it. When he eventually joined his den after many years of practice, Syndus became quite useful by helping unconventionally with the den's hunts and contests. Some of his favorite techniques included creating mud to cloud vision or pulling the water in various directions. With a different skillset, Syndus' thinking developed differently as well, but he is no less an Iyvess than any of his brethren.   Character Overview Whilst Syndus is healthily secretive like all good magicians, he has not yet embroiled himself in magic deeply enough to consider himself a wizard. He enjoys the company of others to some extent and will act amicably enough, greeting old friends and making new ones at many a Great Hunt. However, his greatest interests lie in his time alone, as these are the times when he can practice his magic without restraint. He would no doubt welcome the solidarity of other magically-versed people, but he is the only one in his den. Even after the meat is all taken, the skeleton is highly useful to any den with a carver among their number, since the bones can make excellent weapons. All of these were reasons why Syndus' den had chosen to hunt this particular shark they came across. It was a good hunt, with the shark giving the hunters plenty of trouble as it fought back against its fate. After a long encounter that kept both parties on their toes, Syndus worked with the other hunters to trap it alongside some ocean cliffs, where they finally slew the beast. When it was carved up for parts, Syndus asked for and received the jawbone that he helped sever. For now, it is just a trophy of a time when he worked well with his den. For the future, it could very well become a charm of sorts.

Housing Cashed In Sssalisssarasss Dhani (Saltwater Iyvess), Female 77th of Winter, 401 AV 1st Mark of Oceanus The Dhani are very competitive by nature, but their keen sense of kinship transcends the thrill of the competition. This is why Aras, the most promising of all of Salis' children, supported Syndus through all his challenges and choices. The two share a strong bond, even if Aras doesn't understand all that Syndus does. Harpoon 50 Sssalisssysssi Dhani (Saltwater Iyvess), Female 77th of Winter, 401 AV 1st Mark of Oceanus Ysi was another case of where an Iyvess didn't have the easiest time training to be a hunter. This was something that Ysi and Syndus shared, which brought them together. Where they differed was in the alternatives they found - Ysi had a good eye for a crossbow, whereas Syndus did not.
