AppearanceRace: Human
Gender: Male
Rank: Squire
Age: 50
Birthday: 2 Autumn, 464
Birthplace: Syliras
Appearance: Parzival is an older man, and the years have not been especially kind. His hair has begun to grey and recede considerably; rather than try to disguise this however, Parzival chooses to crop his hair as short as possible, feeling that balding makes him seem "distinguished". His face is cragged and seems to permanently convey a sense of tiredness, but his eyes are very much alert, active, and piercing. He is of average height, and not overly imposing to look at, and he often acts the part of the weary old traveller to lull people into a false sense of security. If he needs to however, he is capable of exuding an iron determination that makes it clear he is the sort of person you are better off not trying to cross.

Syliran Lore- History of Syliran Knights
Religious Lore Character Concept noteBackstory and concept already discussed with Nightmare to make sure they're appropriate/acceptable. Parzival Druva was born to be a Syliran Knight, and in his youth served as a page and squire for many years. Long before he was ready for knighthood however, a moral dilemma forced him to reevaluate his world view, and drove him to seek out religious clarity at a hermitage devoted to the worship of Yahal. What he thought would be a short visit turned into a life spent as a monk, studying the teachings of Yahal and various magical arts in seclusion.
Having turned 50 in the autumn of 514, he decided it was time to return to Syliras and resume his path towards knighthood: though now as a Mage-Knight, rather than the conventional Knight his father would have preferred him to be. His experiences have made him more patient and wise, slower to judge and quicker to contemplate. Far older than most of his fellow squires, he has a reputation for always having some sort of parable or idiom for any situation. The younger squires tend to be wary of him, expecting him to be judgemental of their behaviour; but some have come to grudgingly enjoy his presence and occasional pearls of strange wisdom.
Character HistoryA son of the Druva bloodline - the descendants of Ekeldor Druva of the First Wing - Parzival's entire life was mapped out for him by his father, Mikhail Druva, from the moment he was born. As soon as he was old enough, Parzival became a Page; and though his father was killed in combat while Parzival was still young, Mikhail's wishes were respected and Parzival became a Squire at 13.
Parzival's first patron, Adad Braklin, was a distinguished knight, but was perhaps a little overly fond of the reputation of his distant ancestor, Lilith Braklin. He and his squires, including Parzival and his closest friend Osric Trema, were sent to pursue a fugitive that had gone to ground. Though Adad was renowned for his results, Parzival was shocked by the methods that Adad used to attain them, and his conduct in general: Adad was a man who believed the ends justified the means, and had no qualms about the use of force, or in taking "inappropriate advantage" of the women they encountered on their travels. Parzival regarded such conduct as morally dubious; and when Adad's approach to gathering information claimed the life of the person he was questioning, Parzival felt compelled to speak out. His friend Osric begged him to hold his tongue, however; his opinion of the knights was considerably less rose tinted than Parzival's.
Parzival tried to push the incident aside, but soon wrestling with it consumed his every waking moment. Hoping to find clarity, he took his leave of the Sylirian Knights and travelled to a hermitage populated with monks of Yahal. Parzival hoped that Yahal - the god of faithfulness and purity - would be able to provide some kind of enlightenment on his dilemma: the conflict between his desire to remain faithful to his patron and orders, and his desire to be a paragon of purity and chivalry. What he hoped would be a simple task transformed into a long journey of self discovery, magical knowledge, and broadening his perspective, that would last for three decades.
On the dawn of Parzival's fiftieth year, he decided that it was time for him to return to Syliras and resume his journey towards knighthood, but with a new perspective on where the journey was going, and what road it would take.

Heirloom
As a squire, Parzival always carried with him a Bronze Great Helm that had belonged to his grandfather. At the time it was too large to fit him, but it served as a reminder of who he was supposed to become. When he entered seclusion at the hermitage, the helm was prominently displayed in his sleeping quarters, watching over him in judgement as a symbol of the expectations that Parzival was neglecting. Upon his return to the knights, he brought the helm with him with the intention of integrating it into his armor.
The helm covers the entire face, and has no visor or moving parts of any kind. Two small, stylized holes give the helmet the illusion of eyes, and allow the wearer to see; but peripheral vision is limited, meaning the wearer needs to turn to see around him, or rely on other senses. The helmet is shaped so as not to completely block the ears, allowing the wearer some ability to hear his surroundings: this does provide a weak spot however; Parzival's father was killed by a dagger to the side of the neck. The overall shape of the helm is vaguely avian, coming to a slight point at the front, and adorned with a crest running down the centre; presumably to allude to a Glassbeak, the symbol of the Druva family.
Housing
Location: Squire's Dormitories, Syliras
Like all squires of the Sylirian Knights, Parzival lives in the communal accommodations at the Squire's Dormitories. Far older than most of the other squires there, and tempered into a more quiet and contemplative soul by his time at the hermitage, he finds it difficult to live among the young and often rowdy future knights; though he considers it a test of his patience, and does not complain about the challenge it presents.
