[The Bronze Woods] Another run in with the Knights

Postby Suresslynn on September 10th, 2014, 4:33 pm

Suresslynn grimaced as Garland told her to stay out of it again, then watched as he fought the Yukman for a moment, noting that it used the same rolling move she had done earlier, even rolling in the same way she herself had. "Huh? There's no way..." she said musingly, considering the creatures actions. When the Yukman bashed Garland to the ground, the Dhani grimaced and jumped back into things, this time with something of a plan. When the Yukman swung at her, Suresslynn ducked under the creatures swings, each time keeping it slow enough that the Yukman could hit her.

After some time of this, the Dhani returned with a swing of her own, then grinned as the Yukman ducked under her swings. Keeping up with the same motions, Suresslynn worked at hopefully locking the creature into a patter of motions, trying to set it up for a later move that would hopefully give Garland a chance to kill the bloody thing. "Garland, get your hide up. If can land an uppercut on it, it might knock it back. That might give you a chance to kill it. I'd recommend cutting its head from the top. It'll duck a sideways sweep by now." she said as she kept swinging at it.

After a moment, the Dhani picked up her pace again, now swinging as fast as she could, still occasionally ducking under the Yukman's swings or sidestepping another move. After a bit longer, the Dhani feinted a swing to get the Yukman to duck and when it did, she finally made her move, a hard uppercut right in the creatures jaw. "Garland, now!" she shouted, hoping to get the creature between her fists and his sword.

[The Bronze Woods] Another run in with the Knights

Garland shook off the confusion and quickly grabbed his sword. He saw that Lynn was punching at the creature but not landing any hits, and to top it all off she was fighting slower. What was she doing? It would not help at all, Yukmen never get tired.

He was about to jump in to help but then his companion had said made up a plan. It was brilliant, Lynn was brilliant! He should have asked for help instead of pushing her away earlier, it might have saved his now bloody face.

Garland held his sword high, ready to strike down this monster. He gave a powerful downward slash onto the creature's head, splitting it wide out.

He didn't know if Yukmen could regenerate, but he wasn't going to give it a chance. He pulled the dead monster down, and then cleaving off its head.

He dropped his weapon and ran up to Lynn. "Are you alright? Do you need medical help? I can get back to the city." He was obviously worried about his friend, though he was very grateful for her help.

Suresslynn grinned as Garland followed her plan, though she was actually a little surprised when it worked so well. As Garland cut off the creatures head, the Dhani relaxed enough to listen to the woods around her. They were still quiet, and while she wasn't sure if it was just that the animals hadn't come back yet or if it was because there were more of them. "I'm well enough. Might need them looked at, but I'm able to ride well enough to get back to the city." she said, walking over to the horse. She felt the bruises from where the creature had hit her twinge with each step, but she found it rather enjoyable, so she doubted it showed.

"There might be more of them, and I don't really want to run into more of them." she said, pulling herself up onto her horse and petting the beasts neck to calm it down. "Shh...it's okay, horse. If it'll help you calm down, I'll come up with a name for you on the way back to the city." she said in a calming voice. The horse was even more skittish than usual and Suresslynn had only been able to get on his back because the horse had been tied off. "We should go." she said, untying the horse from the tree...only to barely stay in the saddle as the horse bolted from the sight of the fight towards the city. "You petching piece of shyke! One of the these days I'm going to wind up eating you!" she shouted at her panicking horse as it bolted through the trees, forcing the Dhani to hold herself as close to the horses body as she could to avoid getting knocked off by a low hanging branch.

Garland's horse had been calm enough during the fight, though it looked more amused than startled. "Alright, Let's follow them back to town. Who knows what else they'll run into." As Garland untied his horse, it kicked him right in the chest plate, and gave a whinny that one would assume to be laughter.

Garland groaned and crawled up to the horse. "I hate you so much, you shyke." He painfully got up onto his horse and it rode off to follow Lynn, hitting every branch am making very, VERY sharp turns and nearly fell off several times. "I can't feel anything on my face anymore."

When Garland finally caught up to Suresslynn, she was somehow still on her horse. Her horse, however, was doing it's absolute best to knock her off, as it was now bucking around in a small clearing drying to dislodge its rider. "What has gotten into you? Will you calm down already?" she shouted at the horse, trying to get her mount under control.

After a moment,Suresslynn lost her grip on the horse and was sent flying into the dirt. Immediately upon dislodging his rider, the Eyktolian bred beast calmed down and shook his head before walking over to Suresslynn and snuffling at her hair. "Some days I really hate you." she said, groaning in pain that was too much for even her to enjoy at the moment as she pushed away her horses head.

Garland had dismounted his horse to check on Suresslynn. Actually, he more like fell than dismounted. "Ow. You alright?" He asked as he got up and tried to stand up on his own two legs, but failed.

He was just tired. He wanted a nice warm bed, maybe some warm soup, a body massage. But he'll probably be scolded by his patron knight, then be forced to train physically, working on his battle stance or something.

Of course, this was the life he chose so it didn't matter. He had a bed, plenty of food, a roof over his head and a room of his own, for now at least, but for some reason he felt like he's forgetting something. "Uhhh Lynn? Did you get the gems from the dead Yukman?"

He didn't want to admit it, but he was saving up to buy a pet, and he needed money to take care of it. Though, he wasn't sure that the dorms allowed pets inside the rooms though.

Suresslynn looked up at Garland as her more or less fell off his horse. "I'm not doing too bad, all things considered." she said, pulling herself, slowly, off of the ground and into a sitting position. Looking over at the squire as he mentioned getting gems off the dead Yukman, the Dhani cocked her head in surprise for a moment before shaking it. "No, I was too worried about another one showing up. Do you want to go back for them?" she said, slowly standing up and grabbing her horses reigns.

"If you want. Its fine either way." He got up and got on his horse. "Do you want to go back or should we head back to Syliras?" The sounds of the forest seems to have a few birds chirping here and there now

The clearing had a patch of beautiful flowers that looked a bit out of place for the fall season. His horse gave an annoyed huff as if he's telling that if they do go back, he will hit every branch as they go back.

Suresslynn looked around and listened to the sound of the birds coming back, then shrugged. "I don't see any particular reason not to go back to get the gems...besides, if it goes silent again, we can just run away." she said, taking up her horses reigns. "I don't know about you, but I'd actually rather walk back. It's not terribly far away, and I don't feel like getting thrown off again." she said as she started walking back to where they'd fought the Yukman.

"Agreed." As he was about to get off, his horse decided to kick him off instead. The following were a bunch of grunts and moans. He turned his head to the side to talk. "I would love to join you, but as you can see, I can't feel my legs now." He groaned and sat down beside a tree.

He took off his armor that took the blunt of the abuse from his horse. He took off his chainmail under his armor, and looked at his bruised muscular chest. He poked the black spots and winced. "I'll wait here. Just split the profits haha!" He fell to his side. "I'm kidding, its fine if you take all of it for yourself."

His horse started biting Garland's ear, gently. "Yeah, I get it, you're sorry. I know. Next time, I hope you don't kick me in the face next time I try to ride you." He brushed the horse's mane. "Lynn, do you know anything that can dull pain?"
