Introduction

Hello Mizahar !

So, apparently this is my scrapbook. I thought I'd make one like the rest of you fellows. Fancy title huh? No secret meaning behind it, just two of my favourite words.

So a few details about the person behind Daegron:

I'm George, I live in Greece, I'm in my early thirties and a happily married father of two.

What to expect in here:

An invaluable tool!

Being a non-native English speaker, I find myself often struggling with words. Or I tend to use words whose meaning isn't quite clear to me. Often, I try to avoid using the same word again and again and search for synonyms. Sometimes I am not certain about a word's forms.

I can't quite remember what i was searching for when I stumbled upon this wonderful site. Ever since, it has become a loyal writing companion. It has helped me countless times to find the "right word". It has even given me ideas on how to describe something. Needless to say how my vocabulary has grown in these last few months.

I thought it would be a good thing to share it with you.

Thanks for sharing that website, it looks like a great writing tool! I'll definitely try and use that in the future to eliminate more of my non-native speaker deficits.

Also, it's awesome that you live in Greece. I visited once and thought it was a beautiful country. Not to mention all the ruins of ancient times. <3

A beautiful country to visit and enjoy your vacation. But also a terrible place to live.

Living here, I feel like an ancient ruin myself. You know, neglected for ages and left to bleach in the sun ? Clinging on to glorious moments of the past ?

Writing speed

Here's a confession:

I am a slow reader. I am a slow writer. I mean slower than the slowest of snails. Or something like it (bad metaphor)

I have a ton of excuses about it:

- I am constantly tired
- Lack of sleep, energy and concentration
- very little actual free time ( and most of it is stolen)
- my posts are written in small chunks and then connected
- I want to give my best to my thread partners
- I edit my posts heavily before pushing the "submit" button
- Backspace is my best friend. I use it more than any other key.
- I think before I write.
- I often don't know how or where my post will end before I start writing it.
- read my threadmate's replies again and again in case I missed something

eh, OK, not a ton, I lied. That's the ones that come to me right now.

A "normal" good quality (by my standards, I am not *insert-favourite-writer*) 1000 word post where I am certain what I want my character to do, and achieve can take me around two hours to complete. More when my ideas are vague and change while I am writing it.

Sometimes I struggle. Sometimes I want to write more in a reply but I don't. You people really intimidate me. How the hell can you keep a couple of characters and an ST account active ? I haven't even read half of the lore (and I've forgotten half of that half), I have no idea about stuff that are irrelevant to my character.

So, dear thread partners, please bear with me. I will not abandon our thread. I will try my best. I know that you have goals and seasonal stuff to do. I know that you are eager to grab that "Daegron: Unstable Personality" Lore as soon as possible (yeah right )

I will deliver. I will not disappoint. Just be patient while I shamble. If you feel that our thread takes long to complete while you need it finished to do that other awesome plot thing after it, well please go ahead, I won't hold a grudge.

It is not a lack of inspiration. I have so many ideas in my head, I am thinking what will happen in 5 threads from now. It is not lack of motivation. Damn, this is a creative outlet that I need badly. On the plus side, I am confident that my prose has improved ever since I joined.

I like being around here. I like writing. I just wish it was a little easier.
You all, who have earned my admiration. Do you have any hints ?

FYI: this post took me around 30 minutes (and two edits) to write... petch!

We All Have Those Days~

Heya Dae!

Don't worry! We all have those days, in fact I have them a lot, although it's most because people bail on me and not because of my character's and their work loads. I mean we all feel tired at some point, it happens to me quite a bit, because I'm a Mizaholic. Lol, but we can all understand that balancing real life and Miz can be difficult at times. So if you feel like you are struggling, just let me know and I'll be all cool with waiting.

As for the editing and posting thing, I do that all the time! I begin a post with no intent behind it, my fingers just type and whatever is in my sub-concious mind suddenly flows into the word document. Honestly, half the time I swear I'm not even there when I'm typing! Lol. After I type out a post, I then edit it before posting it. Half the time I re-read it fifty times to make sure that I didn't miss any mistakes, but some how, they always seem to still be able to make it into my posts. Like seriously, by the time I post this, I would have read it ten times and edited it before I posted. Those damn dirty apes!

So don't stress! We still adore you and your evilness! <3

It could have been a poem...

... but somehow, either I killed it or it just slipped away. Here it is though:



I've found out that I enjoy silence.
I let her lie in the back seat after a long noisy day.
She turns off the radio and offers me room for thought.
She welcomes inspiration,
just for a while until the trip is over.

I've found out that I dread silence.
I tremble as she creeps in the dark living room,
once the living are fast asleep.
Yet I stay awake, lifeless;
Unwilling to surrender to this sweet oblivion.

Lest tomorrow comes and once again I've forgotten it all...
