[indent]Nestled snugly in a small grove of trees on the Southeast side of Dry Island Plaza rests [i]‘Spectral Solutions’[/i], the office of Kenash’ most prominent Spiritist, Caleb Morealis. The building looks to have been a house, and is small for a two-story structure, giving a homey feel to clients and visitors alike. There is a porch, which extends around the west side of the building, where a swing adds to the hospitable feel of the site. The lawn is contained within a white picket fence and has a landscaped walkway. The foliage is mostly evergreen shrubs with few ornamental flowers.
Entering the building, one comes to a reception room featuring numerous cabinets. There is a sofa and several chairs and tables. The walls are covered with charts and maps, in addition to the expected portraits of the current Magistrate and prominent Morealis Family members. An archway gives on to a conference room, with a large table, abutting what was clearly a kitchen. The kitchen is still functional, but is primarily outfitted to serve the creation, storage and application of soul mist. There is a door off this kitchen that gives access to an Ice House, where the soul mist, and the perishables used in its manufacture, are stored.
There are also a pair of locked doors from the reception area. Non-employees are not allowed behind these doors and the rooms beyond are staked with reinforced ‘Ghostnails’, to prevent break-in by ANY malicious intruders. One room contains weapons and armor that are available to be enhanced with soulmist, and the other has chains of soulbeads, souldarts, ghostnails and jars for the storage of ‘dusted’ spirits. These jars are glyphed against the infusion of unauthorized soulmist. Upstairs are rooms for private occupation by Mr. Morealis and his resident assistant, the ghost, Mita Jerome. There is a ‘guest” room as well, for unusual circumstances.

Caleb was not initially believed to be of pure Morealis blood. But he may be purer than mere blood would designate. Fathered by a Morealis, and now 40 years of age, he was born to a slave 10 years after the original manor house, ‘Majesty’, burned to the ground. He was fated for slavery from the moment he was born. But at the age of 7, he began having dreams that included events only the Dynastic residents of ‘Majesty’ could have known.
It was incredulously proposed that he could be one of the Majesty fire victims reborn. He was rigorously interrogated to find inconsistencies in his visions, but their legitimacy could not be disproved. As a result, he was quickly sworn to the family and initiated into the discipline of Spiritism, in the hope that this surprising talent for spiritual affinity could be used to ease the unrest in the ruins of the old manor house. What reason the Morealis family has for keeping the old ruins intact, and stabilizing the anguish of the lingering spirits, rather than simply eradicating the site and its occupants, has never been made public. Nor is Caleb’s secrecy in this regard likely to contradict this policy.[/spoiler]

Mita Jerome was one of the house slaves at the old Morealis manor house of ‘Majesty’. She was popular with both the family and the other slaves. She died in the fire, alongside the young Dynast son with whom she was sharing a bed. Seventeen years later, when young Caleb’s dreams began to manifest, so did she. She stated that it was no coincidence that his birth date was the ten year anniversary of the fire, claiming her young Morealis lover had sworn such a promise to return, as their fate engulfed them.
Her continued loyalty to the family, and devotion to Caleb, convinced the family to allow her to become his assistant as he grew in Spiritual capability. Her loyalty to Caleb is absolute, and she makes no lie of the fact that she waits patiently for his recall to awaken and give rebirth to the love that they shared before her death. Rumors abound that there is some clue lost in the charred ruins of Majesty, and that the spirits there are either protecting it or searching for it, on her behalf, and suffer no intrusion.
She is a passionate spirit, her mood easily discernible by the visage she embraces. When her mood is good or at least distracted, she tends to adopt the healthy, seductive look that first attracted her lover. As her mood darkens, she changes, in grim increments, into the gruesome, burned corpse appearance that brings with it the horrible smell of burnt flesh.[/spoiler][/indent][/frametrans][/framepic]
