The backpack did look a lot better than it had and while Khara had no intentions of taking it back out on hunts or days she would spend scouting by herself, it was good to know she wouldn't have to be rid of the bag so quickly, either. She was about to breathe another thank you when Dru explained about what she had to do to survive.
It wasn't disturbing because of what she had to do, but more that she had to. The kitchens could be used if you wanted to prepare your own meals and had the ability and the necessary items to do so, but otherwise your taste buds and stomach were at the mercy of the whims of whatever the chef decided to make that day. Not that it was ever bad, but it certainly didn't sound like anything the Symenestra could actually eat. Maybe some of the more brothy stews...? Either way cake was definitely out of the equation.
"You don't have to apologize. Everyone does what they must to survive. I think a few rabbits or marmots taken for yourself won't hurt anybody and if that's how you have to eat them, then..." Khara shrugged. Okay, so the idea of eating the liquified insides of an animal wasn't exactly the most appealing of things but when you considered how baby birds had to eat... well, different things for different people didn't seem all that strange, really.
"Maybe you could see if you can find some sort of recipe book in the Enclave that will have things you could eat? I don't know if there any like that, but they seem to have books on everything there." The girl fidgeted as the seamstress began prepping to climb the wall, her eyes looking away long enough to let the thought that had been running in her head slip out, "You shouldn't have to starve yourself."
Before Khara could try and think of some other things that might work - jam came to mind for some reason but was lost just as swiftly - the Symenestra had removed her dress. The wrappings she wore were unlike anything the Chiet girl had ever seen. They looked more functional and comfortable than what she would wear under her own clothing, at least.
As Dru began to ascend the walls of the room, Khara couldn't help but be completely amazed. She remembered what the seamstress had said about the hairs on her hand but to watch how they let her grip to practically anything was entirely mind-blowing. It was like watching something she had never thought possible take place and she brought her hands up to cup over her mouth to hide the shock as well as the excited grin that refused to leave her. That settled it for sure, she'd love to go climbing with Dru! Maybe they made gloves or something that would let an Inarta get a better grip as well? Nothing like what the spiderette was capable of though!
"That's amazing!" She blurted out as Dru began to climb back down. "Can you all do that?"
There was no hiding the curiosity that poured forth as her imagination began to run wild thinking of all the possibilities that such an ability would give to a society if everyone was capable of it. After all, Wind Reach would be very different if everyone could ride a Wind Eagle, or if everyone knew how to hunt. Khara wasn't sure if that would be better or worse, but the thought of every Inarta having their own Aerie was certainly a wonder.
