Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Tip of the Iceberg

Setting: Around Early Midday in Riverfall.

It had been a few days now that the sudden obliteration, of the developed stability between Prakash & Drath's dominance over the Akalak's body, took place. At first they thought it was only them and were too entrapped in their own little world to think that it could possibly be a large scale occurance. It wasn't until they finally came to terms with it, after spending their majority of time in-doors, that they stepped out of their compact room at Atri's Place. While that was nothing truly out of the ordinary, it was their self-proclaimed Queste that was more interesting.

As they had spent a few days, which were rather uneventful apart from their practice in Makath, the shadowtongue, with a handful of shadows in their room, they came across an almost forgotten object. The mysterious gem they were awarded upon completing the cryptic game designed by the Antiquities Society, last season. Prakash felt there was more to it, more than it being a shiny stone. Of course Drath, the more cynical and down-to-earth type of the two, thought nothing more of it than a pretty memento or possibly a full coinpurse once sold.

Still, he was convinced to at least investigate a bit further, with clever choosing of words by Prakash. It didn't take that much to spark Drath's desire to find out more about the gem's "mysterious nature", and the knot was tied once Prakash made the comment that he had never seen or heard of a gem that had this kind of flickering light brimming inside of it! At first the Akalak tried to speak to the gem's shadow and see what would come of it.

"Hello, I'm Prakash, how are you?"

"I'm faaaaabbuuulloouuuussss...No but seriously, I'm alright, what's up, Mr Prakash?"

"Uuhm, right, I just wanted to talk a bit and maybe you could help me find out more about this gem?"

"Tut tut tut, lad, ease me into it. Talk me up a bit, buy me a drink, maybe dinner; Then lay the smack down....No but seriously, I haven't got the slightest clue!"

By this point Drath was already getting nervous and agitated by this shadow's personality and Prakash was calming him down when, of course, the inevitable happened and Prakash suddenly switched from his usual dominant position to the latent side.

'Great; The ogre is loose!'
The slumbering side thought out loud, which only spurred Drath on, but so be it.

"Look, you can either be serious when I talk to you or you can just carry on with your usual business and ruin one of the few chances you get to talk to an Akal---"

"Woah woah woah, hold on to your panties, Mr Badass! Bring back Mr Politeass, please...No, but seriously, this is quite the attitude change!"

"I told you! Back in the pocket you go!"

"Alright, I cave! I break! I crack! I'll spill the beans, what do you want to know? I did it, alright, I DID IT...I KILLED THE BEANSTAW...No, but seriously..."

"Petch it all, I'm through with this!"

Tip of the Iceberg

So...The little talk between the Akalak and the gem's shadow resulted in nothing but mockery and shennanigans, at the expense of the blue 'ogre'. After which Prakash and Drath decided upon another course of action, gaining information from a more stable and reliable source regarding gems and such; The Hall of Stones should prove to assist in this matter, concluded Drath and instantly stepped out of Atri's Place to go on his rather unmerry way to the Hall of Stones.

Fortunately for whoever was there to talk to Drath, the calm breeze and generally nice weather calmed the Akalak down a fair bit before he arrived at the large and grand building that housed the organization and exhibitions regarding the Hall of Stones. The large stone columns and pillars on either side of the building's main gate were aged, yet so finely crafted so that it seemed that time had been a calculated factor in its construction, in that aspect it could be compared to good wine actually.

The Akalak hadn't frequented this building all too often in the past, mainly because he had a run-in with one of the guards at a younger age for being a 'tad' too interested in one of the stones and had tried to get an overly close look at it. And, as was known in Riverfall, most of the guards here were siblings, so beef with one means beef with all! Regardless, the Akalak walked up the clean and colorful marble stairs to gain entrance, but before he even got inside he already got halted by a voice near him.

Even though the voice was cheerful and kind, not to mention clearly feminine, Drath was on guard because of his history here and put inadvertently put on his gnarliest face as he turned on the spot to see who had made him stop in his tracks. The poor greeter girl was visibly surprised, scared even, and clearly whisped away moments after, barely giving the Akalak time to take hold of the handed pamphlet.

"Come on Drath, relax, they're not even going to remember us! Go and apologize to that girl!"

"And say what? Sorry my face scared you? No, we're here with a goal, lets stick to the plan!"

"Siggh..."

Fortunately for Prakash and Drath they had found their target as fast as they needed, because if they hadn't, they'd surely been 'escorted' out by the guards who suddenly turned up all around the Akalak while talking to Liana Kebred, from between the large built Akalaks all around, Drath noticed a tiny figure trying to hide and at the same time see what was going on from a stupidly bright spot, thanks to the large special windows all around.

Tip of the Iceberg

"Come come, this young boy means no harm, I'm sure it's all a misunderstanding, isn't that so..Drath, was it?"

"It is, unfortunately I was in a foul mood when me and the girl met and I seemed to have scared her..I will apologize immediatly to her!"

"Don't worry, that can wait for now, now tell me what it was you were talking about earlier? I didn't quite understand, a gem with a flame in it? That's..Quite unheard of in all honesty."

"Here, please take a look, Mrs Kebred. I was hoping you'd might have come across one of these before and could tell me a bit about it."

Liana Kebred took the irregularly shaped and fairly blunt sapphire gem in the palm of one hand and prodded it with the fingers of her other hand. After lifitng it up to eye level and staring at the tiny light shimmering inside it for a while, she frowned and gave it back to the Akalak surrounded by Akalaks, all of them breathlessly waiting for what was going to shared by Liana Kebred. Al though a bit annoyed that these guards were trespassing on his privacy, he was too intrigued by what was going to come to let it bother him too much.

"...This gem, I'm not sure!...But it would surprise me if it was not either magically enhanced, crafted maybe..OR...Not from this world. Quite a special gem you got there, boy..."

She thought for a moment as she looked at the Akalak and then completed her short speech with:

"If you ever do find out more about this, please come back to me and maybe we can arrange a price if you'd like to let it out of your hands; Maybe, eh?"

Drath stared at the gem in his hands as if he had just obtained an ancient Artifact or Relic. At this point, the stone was as invaluable to Drath and Prakash as possible, which was too bad for Liana Kebred.

"We'll see, but thank you kindly for the information Mrs Kebred. I'll try to find out more about this thing! Oh, and I'll go apologize to the girl now, take care!!"

The atmosphere in the hall was a lot less silently hostile than at first, the only one still unsure about what was going on and mildly scared was the girl hopping from one leg to the other, clearly interested in what was going on that had them all so mezmerised but too scared to approach them. Her tiny squeek when Drath started to move and approach her directly after waving off Kebred, was amplified in the accoustic hall and made her face glow the cutest red as she covered her mouth so fast.

Drath couldn't help but feel amused at the cute girl's antics and approached her as casual as possible with the kindest smile he had in his consortium, which seemed to have results as she slowly lowered her hands and smiled slightly amused and slightly ashamed still at the Akalak approaching her. After the initial awkward explanation of what happened earlier and the inevitable waving hand and apologies flying all around, the two managed to come to the conclusion that they were both a bit too quick in their actions made before they started to hit it off.

It didn't take long for them to start laughing hearthily at eachother's jokes and stories and lowering their guards as the chit-chatting went on. Truthfully, Prakash was surprised Drath was able to be this easy-going and even..Dare he even think it?...Charming?! Anyway, Drath and Prakash were having a good time and so was the girl. Eventually the conversation led to what went on earlier with Liana Kebred.

"Oh, right, I was asking her about this gem but it was unfortunately a bit of a dead-end, she couldn't give me all too much info except that it's probably not a 'natural' gem."

"Oooohhh, can I see?!"

"Sure, but what's in it for me?"

The girl grinned wide as she stretched out her open hand, clearly waiting for the gem. To which Drath, playfully annoyed, rummaged in his pocket and first placed a pocketlint on her hand, after which the gem followed in the laughing girl's temporary ownership.

"Hmm yeah, I can see why she'd say that...I'm sorry but I can't help you much with this particular gem either, maybe check out the other Schools and Institutions for more information? Or the Library!?"

"Will do, thanks for your help, Claire. I'm going to check out the Library for any more info, take care and see you around eh!"

To which the greeter girl got on her tippie toes and gave him a slow cheek-kiss near the corner of his mouth before turning on the spot to walk away after shooting him a bright smile and a Bye Bye.

In a teased yet upbeat mood, the Akalak went on his, now merry, way to the Library.
