Appearance: Kohana is a tall man, standing at a large 6"3 and weighing at 220 lbs due to the organ which allows him and his people to store water for long periods of time. He is a fit man, exercising religiously every morning for 45 Chimes, resulting in his muscular physique.
Kohana's skin tone is bronze in color resulting in a contrast against his jet black hair which is either let down or in two braids decorated with feathers and beads. His eyes are a dark brown, seeming black in most lights they are not extremely expressive and are usually showing no emotion whatsoever.
Kohana doesn't smile often, but enjoys cracking a few jokes around the fire with his friends and family. Though his facade may seem cold and unwelcoming, Kohana is friendly and shows his true self to close beings.
Character ConceptKohana may seem like a cold person on the outside and to most people that pass him by, but in reality, he is friendly and sociable to those he knows well. Some may link this to his past, but those who have know Kohana for a long time know that he has always been this way. A smile very rarely graces his face in the presence of people he does not know. He prefers to get to know someone well, along with all of their faults, before he interacts to them. He is especially bitter when before a Human, a result of his harsh past.
Kohana enjoys hunting and physical activities as oppose to lounging about. Especially since his community urges one another to help around and those that lie about are considered ungrateful.
He is closely bonded with his horse, Dakota. It was the foal of his uncle's stallion and was given to him when he was 19 years of age.
Character HistoryKohana was born to two Chaktawe parents. His culture happened to enforce tightly-knit families and Kohana's was the same. When born, many of his aunts and uncles pronounced him to resemble his mother more so than his father, however, as the years passed, Kohana developed a strong relationship with his father.
His father taught him how to ride a horse for the first time when he was four and after that, his father helped him in many ways to develop other skills. Being a hunter himself, his father had prepared a long bow for Kohana when he was five which was to be presented to him on his 15, but a terrible tragedy struck and the bow was given to the boy when he was six.
His father had been hunting with several other men, when suddenly a human ambush arrived. They killed three of the sixteen men who had gone out, one of them being his father. The reason, was for the special organ in the Chaktawe's body that aided them into storing water for a longer period of time.
The news struck chaos in his family, especially since his mother was heavily impregnated. Three months later, his younger brother was born, Mahkah. The pregnancy, however, killed his mother.
Kohana learned that day that he, at the age of six, was responsible for his younger brother even though they had many aunts and uncles willing to help them through.
A bow had been made for Mahkah a few days before his father had died. It was created from the same tree.
For the next five years, Kohana and his brother were moved from house to house as a place opened for the two of them. When Kohana was eleven and his brother was five, they moved to live with their uncle Ataup. He helped Kohana further perfect the skills his father had opened up for him and by the time he was fifteen and sent away, Kohana was ready for the journey that lay ahead of him.
When Kohana was 19 his Ataup gave him the foal of his stallion. It was a young female who Kohana immediately adored and felt a sort of bonding towards.
However, at the age of 24, when Kohana was ready to start his own home, he decided that he didn't want to live in Eyktol any longer, not because of his family, but because of the bad memories that were tied with it. So, with his brother he set off to venture forth into the wilderness.
