Most visitors to Nyka end up renting rooms at the Safehaven Hostel in the Celestial quarter. The structure is about eighty years old; previously, the few wanderers were kindly told to sleep on the streets, but without getting in the monks' way. With the increase in traffic that followed Nyka's rise to fame as a mystical nexus of power, the city experienced waves upon waves of pilgrims looking for personal enlightenment - or, more simply, a good fight. The Hostel is pretty much the only place where a foreigner will be fed in Nyka, since the sale of food is a serious crime in the city. The meals here are considered charity on the visitors and quality is accordingly low: stale bread, water, and the last pick of fruits and vegetables. The rooms are small and spartan, and there are strict rules on noise, tidiness and alcohol, almost like in a monastery. Of course, the fact the Hostel is run by the monks of Laat explains most of its quirks. Currently, there is a female monk in charge of the Hostel, Vysia "Bullseye" Prakmat. While disabled in a fight and walking with a visible limp, the woman is more than capable of keeping the order in the Hostel; if not with her strong manners, with the arsenal of razor-sharp throwing discs and knives she keeps under the counter. People pay upfront, no discounts, no drinking contests, no brawls. Visitors are safe while in the Hostel, if they abide by the rules. An empty cart awaits in the back. If asked, Vysia will honestly tell that it's for the transgressors' bodies. Services

NPCs
Vysia Prakmat A human woman in her early thirties, Vysia is a monk of Laat who was crippled in the left leg past the ability of any available healer. The circumstances of her wound are unclear, and she claims the assailant was "not of this world", but prying details out of her has always proven an impossible task. She was assigned to the Hostel and runs it with an iron fist in an iron glove. Vysia is brutally honest and means no offense to her guests, but she hates repeating herself. She can fling a throwing knife across the room, barely missing the head of a troublesome patron... the first time. She respects those who obey the rules and may even share rumors and information from time to time.
