Surprise Inspection. (Job/Bounty)

Postby Lo'campo on September 26th, 2014, 4:54 am

8, Fall, Sunberth, 514 A.V

Lo'campo laid in his bed eyes open listening to the sounds of the rain hitting his window pane late night. He enjoyed the sounds of the weather, it calmed him, gave him time to think. He imagined a battle of unknown forces fighting it out for control of the skies, a glorious battle indeed. He was relaxed, calm, but yet restless and was not able to sleep, staying up into the night listening to the sounds of the building. All was quiet other than the patter of the rain and constant creeks of the old wood the building was made out of. This was peace for the Akalak, just him and the quiet night, there was no one or thing making sound that would offset his aura. He lay naked and exposed to the moon, nodding his head to the beat of the rain and building making sweet music together. Patter, patter, creak, thump, patter, patter, creek thump, thump, thump. Lo'campo stopped something sounded wrong. Sitting up in bed he listened more closely now to the sounds that he heard. There were the usual sounds of the rain and Quarter, but there was an unfamiliar thumping sound coming from inside the building. Lo'campo got out of bed, making his way to the window that happened to overlook the front of the building. It was hard to see with the rain forming sheets that obscured his few, getting a good look he noticed that Jilene's window shutters were open signalling that she had forgotten to close them like she made everyone else do. "Must be the wind." Lo'campo thought to himself shuffling back to bed to relax to the song that he was enjoying prior. He went back to nodding his head to the music. It was him and the rain, his closest friend.

Lo'campo shot up out of bed realizing the thought that entered his mind. Jilene was blind. She wouldn't be able to find her window, let alone need to open the shutters. He shot out of bed speedily putting on his robes, equipping his nakh, and retrieving his lakan. He shot down the hall, the thumping getting louder as he made his way down stairs to the second floor where Jilene's room was. He was glad that he had bought the melee weapons in case he was to run into a fight unprepared. Jilene! he called out leaping down the stairs with his large feet leaving impressions on the hardwood floor. He called her name again to which a high pitched scream answered. She was in trouble. Wasting no time to be polite Lo'campo charged through the door breaking it off it's hinges. Eyes moved apace briskly reading the room. He saw Jilene on her bed kicking and punching blindly at the man who had pinned her down now hovering over her exposed body and ripped clothing with a dagger to her neck. His attention quickly traveled to the man that held her down. Moving out of pure instinct and adrenaline, Lo'campo dealt a hard jab to the attacker knocking him off the land lady and onto the floor where he scurried away. Lo'campo took to Jilene who was now in fetal position tears seeping from her grey eyes. He looked her up and down noticing a decent cut to her side as blood began to seep from the wound. Shyke. The panicking Akalak knew nothing about doctoring wounds. What would he do if he had gotten cut? He tried calming down, but his adrenaline wouldn't let him as he fidgeted with the bed sheets ripping them and beginning to tend to the wound. "Are..Are you ok? He stammered trying to avoid looking at the woman's exposed breasts. His fingers slipped, damned nakh getting in the way. "Lo'campo go! I can do this, there is a rapist in the Quarter with the children."Jilene was right. He stopped his current task and tried to focus his mind on the one thing he was sure good at.

A large shadow caught the corner of his eye, a large snake creature stood over him dealing a strike of his own giving Lo'campo little time to brace. He fell back into the corner dazed. "Damn Dhani" Lo'campo murmured recollecting himself, he noticed the bounty papers around town for the bounty for any of the snake creatures brought in. He stood back up with his eyes clearing at the time that the Dahni put it's attention back on Jilene who was now armed with the dagger used to threaten her life. Reacting, Lo'campo charged, tackling the Dahni sending them both into the wall cracking the wood under their weight. He knew little to nothing about the snake creatures other than that they were snake...creatures. Snakes had venom, venom was deadly, therefore he needed to watch out for the FANGS! Lo'campo jerked to the side quickly evading the maw of the Dhani. He needed separation to gain ground or he would be struggling for bells. "Jilene run!" he barked, the blind woman advanced quickly across the room covering herself with the sheets making a run for the door. The Dhani lunged, trying to get a quick nip at her skin. Using his strength on the over sized reptile, Lo'campo heaved the snake-man into the opposite direction. "This is you and me now Sikuva" He taunted the Dhani to gain it's full undivided attention.

Letting out what sounded like an angry hiss, the Dhani lunged, coiling it's tail and launching forward as if on a spring. He was prepared this time applying resistance when connecting with the monster. "Fangs" Lo'campo reminded himself making sure that his body and facial area were clear from any possible attack. Lo'campo was strong and in shape, so the Dhani's ability to slowly nudge him backward impressed as well as intimidated the blue warrior a bit. Pivoting around the Dhani causing it to fall forward, Lo'campo lashed out with his nakh claiming nothing but air. Petch he missed. He followed the reptiles movements noticing the club like attachment at the end that now rushed him. He didn't have time to move sacrificing his body and taking the hit dead on to the ribs. Most of the air had been knocked out of him, with the blow sending him into the wall. Hurriedly getting back up, he prepared for the next one shuffling out of the way of the new threat. He was being pressured now barely able to keep up with the pace of the fight. He needed time to catch up. Snatching the pillow case from the bed he risked injury, pulling it down over the Dhani's head after evading another strike. He picked up the first thing his hand touched as he brought a vase over the Dhani's head. "What in the petch is this thing Jilene? It has a club on it's tail?." Lo'campo took his small window, giving another hard hit to the reptile before it was able to reclaim it's vision. "It's a type of Dhani, they use the club as a weapon, they have poison and are strong and fast!" That didn't help at all, she had basically told him everything that he had already figured out in the first 5 chimes of the fight. He moved again striving to evade another attack only to lose his footing thus being thrown off balance. The Dhani lunged going in for the kill. Knowing how heavy this new opponent was, Lo'campo focused only on not getting bit. He could withstand the freaky body club, and even the sharp claws, all he needed to do was not get bitten. Taking a chance the blue warrior sent his hand out grabbing the snake by the neck. He did good, but that didn't stop the rest of the weight from following through. They both went backwards, their combined mass sent them both through the wall and window, they both were out side with glass and splinters protruding from their body. He felt the cold rain fall onto his face. This meant that he hadn't died yet, but his fight wasn't over. Standing up and arming his lakan, Lo'campo faced the Dhani who now stood at it's full height towering over the Akalak. Lo'campo had never met anyone taller than him. Lightning traveled across the sky followed by thunder. Man..He hated his job.

Surprise Inspection. (Job/Bounty)

Postby Lo'campo on September 27th, 2014, 2:10 am

Lo'campo stood his ground staring the Dhani down though his legs wanted him to retreat. He and the Dhani circled the now battle field sloshing mud as they moved. He was wet, which meant that his robes were slippery which was an advantage, but it also meant that he was heavier, slower, while the Dhani had nothing restricting his movement. Lightning flashed across the sky followed by another clap from the thunder signaling the start of the battle. Lo'campo moved first, aiming to get the first strike. The Dahni moved and attempted a failed counter attack due to the mud sliding it's body further than expected. Lo'campo dug his foot in the ground and went to continue with his seedy onslaught. The soft ground absorbed the Akalaks foot holding it in place where he stood. He was thrown off not expecting that result leaving himself open for the Dhani to send it's club into Lo'campo who managed to take the impact with his hands catching it like a ball. The force of the impact pushed him back onto the wall of the Quarter.

He felt the weight of the Dhani settle against his body as the beast began clawing away at his robes tearing through the fabric exposing the armor underneath. Lifting its club, the Dhani targeted Lo'campo's chest. Shifting out of the way, the Akalak took hold of the club with on arm and sent his fist out making contact and cutting the snake's face with his nakh. He soon felt his feet leave the earth, the Dhani using it's own muscle to ram Lo'campo into the wall. The blue giant struggled to keep his slipping grip. The rain was not on his side making the Dhani's scales too slippery to get a solid grasp. One moment he had the upper hand, the next he was on the defensive. It was a forever turning tide with the warriors as they both dealt equally strong blows to their opponent. His back hit the wall again, sending a shock up his back that seemed to overload his senses. His nostrils flared, his ears popped and it felt that his eyes were ready to fall out of his head.He felt nothing only the taste of blood in his mouth. He lost his grip whilst giving another adrenal filled hook to the creature. Tight pressure surrounded his ankle before he was cast upside down and pulled down to the earth. The Dhani was strong, the battered Lo'campo struggling to get his ankle free with no avail. He felt the tail muscle constrict before being yanked through the mud toward the monster. He needed a way out of this situation before it was completely out of his control. Arms flailing for balance, he took hold of an oil lamp transported with them when they made their exit from Jilene's room. With only one shot at what could possibly be continued life or immediate death the blue warrior focused. Waiting for the right time to strike. "Wait..wait...now!" Currently hoisted in the air Lo'campo swung his arm bringing the unsuspected oil lamp to the creatures face setting a small blaze upon its scaly skin.

With a growl the Dhani backed into the room dropping it's potential meal back onto the mud covered ground. Clearing the hair from his face he hastily got back up. He charged trying to catch the Dhani while he was distracted. Arming his lakan he gave swing, nipping the skin and taking a claw to the cheek. He was turned around by the glass shatering swipe. He felt the acute pain of it's claws digging into his back. "Fangs!" his elbow shot out catching the chin of the Dhani. He had gotten lucky, correcting his position and retaliating with a strike from his nakh. Moving forward, he followed with a straight jab and uppercut. His robe took two blows from his claws while the forgotten club rocked him into another corner. Back on the defense, he was tired of this game, he didn't know how much longer he could push his body into taking a beating. He pushed the Dhani off only to be moved back into the corner. He could feel the chainmail giving way as the Dhani's claws began scraping at his skin. The Dhani went for a bite only to feel Lo'campo's hands around it's neck. The Akalak a squeezed the snake's large neck muscles attempting to cut off the airway of the slithery reptile. Using the Dhani's weight against him he switched positions now with his back out of the corner. Everything seemed seemed to be in his favor, he was in the better position, he was away from it's fangs, Due to the low ceiling he didn't have to worry about the Dhani rising to it's full height. Everything seemed to be good until he felt the large club beat down onto the cuts of he back, reacting quickly Lo'campo rose back up from being knocked down pushing his hand upward so the Dhani couldn't use it's maw. The two were locked in the battle of waning strength now. At this point it could be anyone's win.

Surprise Inspection. (Job/Bounty)

Postby Lo'campo on September 27th, 2014, 5:14 am

He could barely take anymore abuse. His hands were sore from tree cuts, his face still hurt from the fight with the sailor, and he was pretty sure that his laceration had re-opened if not sore, now this. Jilene would have to hire more help if things kept happening to this place. Was it always this petching bad? The Dhani began to overcome Lo'campo's grip around his neck slowly removing the Akalak's hands from their current position. Lo'campo knew that he couldn't allow the Dhani to get the upper hand. Reacting swiftly, Lo'campo removed his hands from the reptile's neck and raked his nakh across it's face completely scaring the beast. The Dhani went frantic letting out a loud cry of pain along with swinging it's club around blindly. Acting as the snake had, Lo'campo brought his nakh to the Dhani's back. Recollecting himself and his temper which had now flared, the Dhani clubbed Lo'campo in the ribs slightly crippling the man and lunged. They were on the floor now, Dhani on top clawing away at the warrior. Lo'campo was glad that he wore his robes and had not run down naked. He knew that his robes would by him some time if not protect him from the frenzy of attacks. He tried rolling the Dhani off only to be re-pinned and stuck in the same position as before. The creature was heavy, he would need something, anything. He noticed his lakan not to far from where he lay. "Reach" He told himself now stretching for the weapon.

An acute pain filled his shoulder, the feeling of blood leaving his body verified what had happened. Opening his eyes he looked to the Dhani's claws leaving a sizable wound in his exposed skin. His body screamed in pain, the feeling of every nerve in his arm exploding traveled through. He apologized to his body, but pushed it to move on for dear life. He looked to the Dhani who seemed to have a smirk on his face. His left arm was disabled. He knew what was coming next. Using his still functioning right arm, Lo'campo snatched a pillow from the floor using as a shield from the jaws of the Dhani, placing the stuffed rectangular clothed bag into it's mouth. Pain jumped on his left arm as he forced it to stretch toward his lakan. Squandering no time, he brought the weapon up, hitting the Dhani in the eye with the hilt of his dagger. Right place wrong end, but it was enough to get the snake off of him along with accumulating him some time.

Not taking the time for granted the Akalak moved, taking a ripped piece of the bed sheet and making a makeshift sling for his arm so it would not dangle or get in the way. Now he was working with on arm now, he had to remind himself so he wouldn't do anything too risky. He looked at the Dhani that still clutched it's eye. He was satisfied that he hit the bastard pretty damn hard, probably his best his the entire fight. He looked to the stairs where it would lead to the tenants, orphans, and cowering Jilene who were all probably in his room armed with his great-sword as they practiced in drills. It was he and the Dhani now, no one would get in the way. It was a fight until he could subdue the creature and turn in the bounty, or drop dead. "Petch it all" Lo'campo spoke running and jumping onto the Dhani's wide back. "Club." He spoke to himself, walking himself through the most dangerous parts of his opponent to disable first. The club came fast and hard as usual. Puttin up his slinged arm, Lo'campo leaned to the side letting the Dhani hit itself while catching the club in the strap that held his arm up. "Fangs." Leaning forward, the Akalak put his slinged arm over the Dhani's head, to which the creature chomped down barely missing Lo'campo's arm who proceeded to pull up where the Dhani's head and club were touching with the only thing stopping them from getting free was Lo'campo. All that was left were the claws, using his legs, the blue warrior wrapped his long legs around the Dhani's arm, crossing them over the back of the snake's neck so it would not be able to use them.

Completely in control of the Dhani's upper body, Lo'campo clawed away using his nakh to slowly tear through the leathery skin of the snake which turned out to not be an easy task due to the snake slithering around running into walls and up the stairs. Lo'campo continued, using the metal claw to inflict damage as blood began to run from the snake. The Dhani wasn't able to do anything as far as attacking. It's mouth was shut, it's club immobile, it's claws restricted. All it could do was slither around knocking over things until it gave out. Using his working arm, he began hitting the creature in the head and neck areas hoping that it would pass out. It proved to be a difficult task indeed, the Dhani now in a panic ramming into walls and what ever else got in the way. Lo'campo struggled to hold on, wincing at the pain of his shoulder moving. Trying to use more force he hit the snake's head harder aiming for the temple or soft spot in the head to bring down the crazed beast. Moving to a more desperate place now, Lo'campo tried steering the Dhani into the wall and corners to force it to give out and fall. Who knows how many chimes or bells passed as the wild ride progressed until the Dhani finally began to show signs of exhaustion and started to slow. An already tired Lo'campo used what remained of his strength and fear to press on with the head beating. Before long the Dhani's muscles relaxed followed by it's body dropping to the ground taking himself and Lo'campo down the flight of stairs.

Slowly untangling himself from the massive snake Lo'campo took the time to catch his breath. He looked to the Dhani making sure that it was still breathing. A dead Dhani would me no bounty which also meant that the entire fight was for nothing. "Help" A smile crept across his face as he choked out the words. "Help! Jilene! Somebody! Help! The Dhani is defeated, I need muscle!" Help!" Lo'campo sat and waited for Jiline and a plethora of other male tenants to come out to help him transport the creature. He waited for all of the men to show, he wanted to make this as quick as possible before the creature was to awaken and cause more trouble for the men. "Ok, I need you four at the tail, three each on each arm, I want the eight of you to grab it's body, you, take this stone, if it's head rises drop it on him, you take this stone, if that stone doesn't work drop this on him. If that doesn't work drop him and petching run people. This think is not something you want to play with. We need to make this quick and simple, We do not know how much time we have until it does come to."

With that being said they moved out, Lo'campo leading and standing close to the Dhani with his lakan drawn in case he needed to take it's life, and the 20 men who volunteered to get the monster out of their home. They moved as one mass making their way into the city gaining eyes from bystanders It was a long journey for the men, the one in charge of the stone even dropped on the Dhani's head out of fear, but alas they had made it to Tua's establishment. It was late and Lo'campo was sure that no one would answer the door, but looking at the creature that nearly killed him tonight forced him to bang on the door until it slightly opened and a voice spoke with him. Saying nothing, Lo'campo gave the voice a bounty paper he snatched from the building requesting a live Dhani. With the help of the men, he placed the Dhani into the building and out of his hands. He was relieved that he no longer had the problem of the snake monster. Making it home safe and sound he walked up to his room. Taking the time to actually relax, the fully grown Akalak sat on his bed and allowed the tears to roll down his face. His body hurt in old and new places, he could have died tonight, but he didn't. So he wept in front of the men that helped him carry the Dhani and in front of the children and tenants, even in front of Jilene who though could not see it, knew what the Akalak felt. Gaining a well meant hug and thank you, he watched them all leave as he laid on his bed and rested...END
