3rd Autumn 514 AV
Fallon crinkled her nose with disgust. It was an unusual request, and one that sent her skin crawling as she thought about it. Lips pursed into a line, her eyes looking up from the written form and to the courier that stood opposite her. But it was an investigation request, sort of. Her mouth opened, a gentle lean in her office chair back as she looked upon the fine text - by Sunberth standards - and then the slacked jaw shut once more. There was a sniff, lips pursing briefly before she spoke, "I suppose I don't have much of a choice do I in this case?" She watched the lad shrug, and with a sigh she flipped a silver at him, "Go tell the Ma'am that I'll investigate this... body. Hey, not so fast. Got another job for you first lad."
Pulling out the writing equipment, she smoothed out the parchment and become the process of gently composing a letter. It was far from neat handwriting, but it was one that was still largely legible - if not for the occasional ink splodge at the edge. Cheeks gave a puff, a cock of the head to one side as she mouthed the words. She had heard words a particular individual in the city, and now she would now see if it was indeed true. Of course, not without some subtlety of her own identity.
Dear Ms S'Essy,
Whilst I mean no cause of alarm, it has recently come to my attention that you are presently residing in the city of Sunberth, thus must extend some belated pleasant greetings and welcome you to the city of anarchy and chaos. I hope that the locals have not been too much of a trouble to you and that you have not been separated from your possession on too many occasions.
Upon my understanding, you are one of some competent medical knowledge and that of the anatomy, and so I would here by like to invite you personally - with or without additional company - to assist me in such a manner. I will be upfront with you, the assistance is not among the living, but is instead among the dead. I am required to put forth my services to study a recently demised for answers in an investigation case, but find myself sorely lacking in some skills necessary to truly understand the cause of death. Which is why I have approached you.
Would you be at all willing to offer your skills in the dissection and analysis of a human body this early afternoon at the Quay? Even if it is even from a more learning aspect. The necessary equipment will be supplied and if so desired, given in compensation for your time and skills. I hope this will suffice if you are so inclined to join in such a study.
Yours Sincerely
Bitzer Redwulf,
Investigator of the SWI
Sighing, Fallon lowered the quill and rubbed the bare skin of her right hand. The inner of her palm gave a stiffened ache, her tendons tensing as she massaged it out. With a small grunt she proceeded to fold the letter up, and sealed it shut with a drop of heated red wax - she had yet to acquire a signet. With a single blow upon the surface she addressed it, and summoned forth further coin to the lad, "Here's the deal. Another silver. Now, I want you to firstly go to the madam, have the body sent here. I then want you to deliver this... then get the following." She handed him a smaller list then and a further coin. "If you don't come back by the early afternoon with what I want, I will hunt you down, I will find you, and I will..." The boy violently nodded and took the letter from her without a second thought. Fallon chirped, "Good! Now off you go!"
