There are those who believe that it is natural to be selfish and that purity has little significant meaning. For a very long time, Amrita was one of them. Indulging in her desires never seemed to be much of a sin, so long as she didn’t hurt anyone. She yearned for a hedonistic life, where she could be free to truly enjoy herself. Such a life was but a dream within Yahebah.

A harsh chain of events led her to an epiphany that completely broke her wall of resolute beliefs. A life of gluttonous pleasures would no longer be appealing to her. In fact, she abhors it. Vowing to never take on a lover until she reclaims her family’s honor, Amrita now has faith in the value of physical and mental purity. She sacrificed her selfish desires in penance for what she realized was a grave sin. Rita now struggles to keep her emotions under control, regarding logic and self-reflection to be the keys to keeping her mind free from pain and misery.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Appearance

Amrita has had practice maintaining the semblance of expected norms. Her caramel skin and pale jade eyes are the first signs of her background. Add that to her desert-appropriate outfits paired with her favorite leather sandals, and it isn’t hard to pinpoint her region of origin. She’ll want you to see a typical Benshiran woman, adhering to characteristic Benshiran stereotypes.

Many will never notice that her bright smile serves to overshadow the gloom in her gaze. Her light, cheery voice will sound forced to accustomed ears. But Amrita will be sure to make it clear that she’s doing well, and that she really is content with where she is in life. She’ll laugh, sing and even dance in good company; her lithe figure helping her move with grace and elegance. Only a careful observer will find a thread of inner turmoil in every form of art she displays.

Blessed with genes of natural beauty, Amrita has always known how easily one can succumb to its charm. There have been times when she felt beauty was an extraordinary source of power. More recent times have left her feeling like beauty was less of a blessing and more of a curse. Such times have made her understand the importance of modesty. Rita thus chooses to dress in ways that conceal her curves and highlight her humble beginnings.

History
WIP – Will be fleshed out through flashbacks.

Most Benshirans would’ve described Amrita as a lovely young lady with an ever-present smile. They’d say that she seemed like a free-spirited type who enjoyed striking up a conversation with anyone in the city. Of course, many knew her as Murad's daughter, from the Sons of Rapa, so it wasn’t hard to figure out where most of the respect came from. The family name carried high honor and esteemed values. Thus, Rita was seen as a woman who was especially devoted to faith and purity, in the name of Yahal. This made her a quality choice for any Benshiran bachelor, since a Rapa girl could be expected to follow every teaching in their religion and culture.

But Amrita is far from the perfect bride.

In the public eye, she was everything you would expect a priest’s daughter to be: kind, faithful, selfless, and pure. In reality, she was pretending. Rita refused to believe in the goodness of physical and mental purity; she never truly understood the philosophies of Yahal. In school, she chose to take most of her studies under the Sons of Basalom, enjoying The Arts more than she did Religious studies under the Sons of Rapa. The Arts were expressive, beautiful and free. Religion seemed restricted, dogmatic and dull.

Being easily enamoured by beauty and excellence, Rita soon found herself yearning for better alternatives. In essence, she desired the life of an Eypharian. But where did this desire come from?

A travelling group of Eypharian performers, skilled in the ancient art of Semhu, journey to Yahebah a few times every year to showcase their tradition in exchange for coin. It was customary for students of Basalom to watch their performances, appreciating the art form and learning from it what they could. But Amrita happened to learn far more than what was expected.

Long story short, she fell in love with a talented Semhu performer named Amir when she was 16. Having been unsatisfied with the Benshiran way of life, Rita took an immediate thrill in the ways of the Eypharians, and became addicted to Amir's charm. Every licentious cell in her body became aroused in his presence, and soon enough, she found a means to lead a double life that lasted two years.

Rita's mother, Nima, grew increasingly suspicious of her daughter's activities with every passing day. Nonetheless, she patiently waited until the girl was ready to be honest. Murad, her father, was completely oblivious. The day after she and Amir decided to end their relationship, Rita told her parents everything, shocking them beyond all of their combined imaginations. What had transpired between the lovers was not only blasphemous, but also illegal. Her father felt he had no choice but to report her misconduct to the High Masha.

The next day, her palms were blackened.

Nima understood her daughter better than anyone; she knew what Rita was going through, and after a long discussion with her husband, she also knew what would be best for her. Her parents decided to send her off and away from Yahebah, providing her with as much as she needed to survive on her own. Rita was told to return home only after she had proven her worth and reclaimed her honour.

She boarded a trading vessel heading for port cities along the Suvan Sea. The First Mate was a friend of Mizra, Rita's great-grandfather, and he was told to keep an eye on her until they got to Black Rock where he was instructed to drop her off. First Mate Abu was an amateur Spiritist. Mizra knew this well, and it was the reason he chose Abu to watch over his granddaughter.

Amrita's future now lies in Dira's domain.

Gnosis
ImageTelepathy - 1st Mark

Blessed by Leth on the 12th of Spring, 513 AV

The first mark of Leth rests in the center of the wrist and manifests as a crescent moon. It is slightly luminous with a blue sheen. When in use, it glows slightly.

When using Telepathy (while in contact with moonlight), Amrita is able to communicate words or their equivalent through thought to those also touched by the direct light of the moon. She can communicate with others within a one mile radius, and with only one person at a time through words. The receiving person must someone Amrita is familiar with (has met them before in person and they both would recognize each other upon meeting again). Others who have been marked by Leth can be communicated with regardless of being known.

A single feeling can accompany the words and wash over the receiving party. This feeling however doesn't influence the person or cause them to do anything against their will; it simply adds emphasis to the communicated words. Amrita can send one-way communications to the intended target and receive only single word responses unless the target is also marked by Leth. She cannot see who she's communicating with, but she is aware of the person's presence in the light of the moon and can recognize the person as the the one she's trying to communicate with.

Voice
Amrita's voice isn't too different from that of her model, Jessica Lowndes. Check out the video to hear what she sounds like:
