“First my home, then a show at the tavern,” Sayana corrected. “Just because you’re my friend doesn’t mean you’ll be getting special privileges. Or sex for that matter.” She waited for the expected blush to come to his face, but her tone was still firm and not teasing. “Don’t think for a moment that you’ve become my client.”
She picked up her things then scooped up the silver coins and brought them to the front counter of the coffee house. “That’s for the two coffees,” she said simply to the Benshira. As she went back to the table there was a lightness in her step and she spun with a twirl that flared out her skirt. “You’ll find my dancing quite impeccable,” she said, all seriousness gone and a playfulness that replaced it.
She headed for the door, slipping amongst the chairs and customers with ease. She smiled brightly back towards Garland and opened the door. “Don’t lose me,” she called and beckoned him with one of her high hands before dashing down the street.
