70th Fall, Sunberth 514A.V Dawn
In the yard of the Sunset Quarter is where he stood sword in hand awaiting for Minerva to read off the directions from one of the many books she made him check out from the library. He was surprised to see that people actually spent time writing things down for other people to learn...petch, he was surprised that Sunberth had a place like that. Ok, Introduction to using the great-sword. The great sword is a two handed weapon made for big and powerful strikes known as the hack, jab, and overhead slash. Because of it's size and weight it must wielded with two hands, the dominant hand holding the top of the swords hilt firmly and the less dominant supporting on the bottom. Doing as the book had said, he gripped the sword using his strength to hold it's weight. Since he was ambidextrous it didn't matter to him how he grabbed it. He took a second to get a feel for the weapon. It was the weapon that his father had gave him before he left home. Made of steel, it was the standard sword. It didn't seem that heavy with two hands, but he watched as the 5ft blade stuck itself into the ground when he attempted to hold it in one hand. Slowly holding it back up, he got back into position. "Like so?" he asked the Konti who nodded in agreement. "Now, The first attack, hack is the sideways motion as if one were chopping down a tree. It is the basic yet difficult move because one would need strength to hold the blade in place, and control to keep the weapon in hands.
Listening closely to the words that were spoken, Lo'campo approached the tree that was unfortunate enough to be picked out for his training. Giving the weapon a swing, he made contact with the tree sending a shock into his hands. Releasing the weapon, he put them into his robe, comforting them with warm pressure. It wasn't going to be easy. Picking back up the sword, he re-assumed the position. The hilt of the blade tickled his palms from the result of the shock. Gripping the sword again, he gave swing this time not releasing when he connected to the bark of the tree. Another shock was sent up his arm giving him a shiver. "It says to relax your arms and try not to have them so stiff and locked." Minerva spoke. Following his sister's advice, he loosened up letting the sword rest instead of being in one place. He couldn't feel his hands needing to exercise them to get feeling again.Dropping the sword, he hit the ground with push ups. Silver hair falling over his head onto the ground. He needed to keep his strength up, scolding himself for not training since the start of the season. His muscles ached from withdrawal of the workout. If there ever was a burn to be felt from an exercise, he felt it. Up and down he went, the veins in his arms bulging out. This was his fourth set in now signalling Minerva to sit on his back. The Konti was light, but her weight felt as if tons were put upon his back. He speed slowed now pacing himself. His arm shook telling him that their limit was reached. Ignoring them, he pushed on letting air out from his teeth as he struggled to push past his limits.
Done with his warm up, he moved to combat approaching the punching bag. hands up, arms feeling like jello, he sent out a punch striking the bag with sloppy force. Flexing his arms, he went back in giving quick combo's and random attacks. Right, left, left, right. Striking the bag with force to make it shake and swing about. Taking hold of the bag as if he were locking up with an opponent, he lifted his legs pushing his knees into the bag. He started off slow at first not so used to the movement until he worked it in now going at a much faster pace. In through the nose and out the mouth he breathed so he would not tire as easy. Punching faster, he folded his arms now striking with his elbows before ducking and coming up with an uppercut. One foot crossing the other, he began pivoting and striking as if he were in a moving battle. Putting an arm up, shifting his weight toward the bag, he made contact with the bag offsetting it's movement. Sweat bounced off his body as it made impact with the bag. Lifting up, he brought it off the hook holding it onto the tree before bring it down with a loud thud.
