Hey all!

Apologies for my absence as of late.  This is busy season for me!  It should be better toward the end of the month.  Currently I'm going to a balloon festival thi weekend with my sisters.  We fly a couple of hot air balloons for a hobby and this weekend we will be going out of state for it.  The weekend after we have another flying weekend, but after that there is nothing planned and I should be able to focus on writing.

In addition to flying it's the time of the year for harvesting and freezing and canning all of our goods from the garden.  I'll try to get pictures up of the balloons and canned goods so you guys can see what I've been up to.

On top of this there has been a lot of drastic changes at work that have been making my days longer and nights shorter.  I have an hour drive in the morning and an hour drive at night so my usual days are about 12 hours long and now it's stretching even longer.  I'm lucky if I can squeeze everything I need to do into the 3-4 hours that I get when I get home.

This should start to lighten up a little more towards the end of the month so I plan on plotting with anyone who is interested!  Don't think I've forgotten you!

So as you all may know this weekend was pretty hectic and I haven't been around too much.  I have brought pictures to show some of the adventures of the weekend!  I didn't get to take too many but I do have a Go Pro video of the flight!  I hope you enjoy!  Our balloon we flew this weekend is in the bottom two photos.

Hey Guys!!

I'm sorry I've been so busy lately.  Things have gotten pretty intense at work.  We had to move one of the companies to a new location two weekends ago kind of abruptly and we're feeling a little bit of a backlash from that.  On top of that we've got new people coming in that need trained, etc and just a bunch of overall insanity!  

On another note, weekends have gotten even MORE hectic.  Friday night I went to a highschool football game and froze my rear off to watch my boyfriend be honored for being a Vet and having played his entire highschool career on the football team (Being frozen was totally worth it).  It was a really good time, except that they ran out of hot chocolate by the time that I got to the stand and I almost wanted to cry.(They even had run out of coffee!)

Saturday I woke up in the wee hours of the morning (only got a couple hours sleep) and then went for a flight with my sister in the morning.  I will say it was one of the more beautiful flights that I've done.  Flying is the best thing.  Mind you that I am deathly afraid of heights and I had a slight panic attack when we first took off, but after we started going and were up in the air it was much better.  Fighting that fear is totally worth the experience.  Where we took off from is called Banner Flatts and it's a flat area filled with ponds and bike paths.  It's great for bikes, joggers and exercising and fishing.  It's a really pretty spot!  I got some great aerial views of it. 

Afterward I headed to a friends house and played strategical board games from about 12pm until about 12:30am.  I have an hour drive home and it was extra long after having such a long day.  Totally worth it though!  

Here are the pictures from the flight.  I've got some video of it too but I'm still chopping that together and need to upload it to Youtube.  Once I do I'll definitely get that posted up.  Cause videos are the best.

Sidenote:  The dot in the sky in front of us is actually a friend of ours, he was flying that morning as well and we set up next to each other and took off together.  Sooo much fun!   Also so you know, I live in Iowa and that's why there are so many fields, they're all corn and beans!

(3rd picture is a Christmas tree farm!  2nd and 5th picture is the town I grew up in.  Last picture we skimmed the corn tops!  This is by far my favorite thing to do besides skimming tree tops!)
