She was born early in the morning on the forty-seventh day in Winter in five hundred and ninety-four AV. In her own home she was sired and her mother always said: as she the midwife was screaming “PUSH” her mother could swear she heard the bowels of Skyinarta churning and flowing, putting a fire inside her children. She was born on the kitchen table. One third of a fiery trio of children her and her family were a normal breed of Chiet inarta. One thing she loved about her mom as a child is she always smelled like cinnamon, it was in the candles she always burned and even in her soap; her mother loved the stuff. She holds a memory of being five years old and swaddled in her mother’s lap, listening to a story, as her mother was always keen to tell, smelling the cinnamon of her mother’s bosom. Her father, on the other hand, was a flighty fellow and rarely was seen. That being said when he was around she had great memories of her and her family all telling stories and playing games like “Hide and Seek” together. But by the time she was at the age to be put in the youth section she had little to no contact with her father, but thought little of it. The same couldn’t be said for Hip who was devastated by the change in events but all the same that’s how it happened.
In the youth section she would see her mother off and on, sometimes she would stop by and leave them gifts. But contact between the trio and their mother slowed and they began making friends among the other children. One of those such friends was a child by the name of Ivesi, a “John” of names among the inarta, who had a wild and tangible spirit. It was this child who, as teenagers, got Saej to try Temper for the first time. Unfortunately for Ivesi this was a death sentence for him, he got too brash and left from a cliff in which he misjudged the length to the other side. His wasn’t the only funeral he attended before they turned fifteen. Up until then her Temper use was a little less than sporadic, Temper being the least of her worries back then. She hardly ever had the money for the stuff. But then when she hit fifteen and gained an apprenticeship for glassblowing she also started using Warp and hitting the Apple Sauce. Which sounds silly but in reality it almost killed her, by way of panic and overdose, multiple times.

One such time she had just finished up in the shop and hit her pipe with the last little bit of Apple Sauce in it. She was on a downward spiral for a while and was just laying in a chair, not sitting but sprawled out, when her friends came to find her and drag her up to the Twin Lakes to have a go at some swimming. Forcing her muscles to move, she went. Hip was with them at the time, but he only smoked Temper, not into the “harder” stuff. She used to scoff at him for calling it, “hard”. This shyke she was on, it made her muscles move slower. It was like being drenched in a bucket of sap and then pulled through tiny tube by an elastic band, bad juju. They made it to The Twin Lakes and some of them, her good buddies, took to the sides while everyone else disrobed and jumped in. They were packing a bowl of Warp, Saej’s second favorite.
This time she went all in. She smoked and smoked that stuff until her lungs were burning. She remember laughing through a cloud of smoke at some dumb joke her friend said, the joke lost to time, and his voice sounding like it all ran together really fast, all at one time. The Warp took the usual affected time, only Saej was in the water. She began losing her grip on reality and started flailing in the water, unable to swim and consumed by panic. There was something in the water with her she could feel it down below. It was down there, and it was going to use its tentacle and grab her and pull her under. When Hip came to save her from her imminent drowning she lashed out at him, hitting him multiple times in the face until she finally passed out from screaming so long and he was able to pull her to shore and give her mouth to mouth. When she was resuscitated she was still long gone from reality and the first thing out of her mouth was, “gimme that bowl, I need to calm down, just gimme it, where’s the Temper” everyone just looked around at each other and stared.
After that, long after she had regained herself, she swore of Warp but not the Sauce. She was still hooked on it. Until she was eighteen years old. What helped her realise was her Master she was apprenticing under, Gimlays, always giving her a hard time about her drug use. Telling her it was going to ruin her career and she would never become an Avora. Almost shaking his finger at her in a way. She loved Gimlays like a father and usually took heed of his words, he was even nagging her out of her Apple Sauce addiction. But what finally did it, the final kicker was a combination of a trip she took on Funkus and deciding she needed out of the caste system.

The funkus trip taught her many things. It taught her the fire within her wasn’t her, but a part of her. Like a sister. And she needed to take care of that fire and quit putting poisons in her body. She learned that it was time to make a change in her life or she was going to slowly, sadly die. Slip away into a life of drug abuse and making money which was living for a drug and not living for herself. The funkus was a wise teacher and she was wiser still, out there camped on the outskirts of Wind Reach in the Unforgiving, to heed its words which echoed that of her mentor but in a sweeter tone that finally broke through her ears and reached her mind.
It was for these reasons she left Wind Reach to Lhavit when she was only twenty, a city just as bright and showy as her own with a little less of that “bite” that the inarta seem to have. Lucky for her she made a friend within the first season she was here, at the time he was just a fluffy kitten. She named him Thak, for a full year(starting in 514AV) he’s been her only friend. She waitressed for a year at the Star’s Shadow and still holds it as her favorite pub, as she’s very familiar with the owners. She took up gardening indoor plants as a hobby and now feels as if she can hack it outside in a real garden and so took wing under Solla as gardener to Okomo Estates, something she feels proud to be doing.
